Hello everyone! My name is Angelena I have posted a few times on talk Jesus. I have gave my testimony and shared a few stories of my walk with Jesus! I have been recently saved this year! Now just yesterday I got baptized! It was such a beautiful and amazing experience! I am now a new and clean creature with Christ!!! It is truly exciting though I am seeking knowledge of what I should do next! The man who baptized me prayed an anointing over me. He prayed for me to not just be baptized of water, but also of the Holy Spirit! This is so exciting and I can't wait to see all that God has in store for me! I truly desire whatever gift God has for me! Also I was wondering if anyone here speaks in tongues?
In January I have decided to go into Ywam, God has an amazing puropse for me!! Thank you for your time!!
I guess my question is, what should I do next?

For one pray if He wants you to go to Ywam :-)
Let His Spirit be the decider in what direction He wants you to go in.

Continue to grow in knowledge/knowing of His Word. Make time to study, and meditate upon His Word. Make it so that if you don't do it, you will feel as if you've forgotten to do something important and dear to you!

I'm sure other Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus will add their input as well.
I rejoice with you on your baptism!!! Alleluia! and Give God all the Glory!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

@Angelena Snyder

Give God the glory!

Speaking in tongues is not the end of the road, but some say it is the wrong road, so don't be surprised if you receive some negative input.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord and we speak in tongues.

I first spoke in an 'unknown tongue' in 1976. For many years now it has been a part of my daily communication with God.

I'm unfamiliar with Ywam, what is it? Seek all the gifts, not only tongues. The best gift is Love, seek it first and tongues may follow. It did with me.

Also my dear Sister, it good to know terms. You say, "Baptized with the Holy Spirit". Being Baptized with the Holy Spirit is when at the point of Salvation, the Holy Spirit immerses you into the Family of God. You become a child of God.

The second Baptism is the "Baptism IN the Holy Spirit" whereby you are immersed into the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit with fire and power to witness to the lost the "Good News". There are many folk who want the second Baptism just for tongues, that's dangerous because Satan can duplicate the real with the false.

If you're not ready and willing to walk the "narrow Road" and be used by the Holy Spirit and all of His gifts to edify the Church and reach lost souls for Jesus, your second baptism will fail.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)

Note: The Holy Spirit of Truth speaking through Peter is telling us exactly the procedure: we shall receive the remission [passing over, forgiveness] of our sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost if we repent and own our sins; repenting is the command, but if we repent not, then neither can we receive remission of sins, neither receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. (Acts 5:32)

Note: Again the cost to count is obedience.

Ywam is Youth on a mission. It is a six month school! It is three months of discipleship training! Which is basically learning the bible and getting to know your identity threw Christ! Then three months of outreach overseas! It's very exciting! God has led me to the school in Colorado Springs! I don't go until January so I am just praying for what God wants me to do in the mean time! I know I need to get a job and save up for the tuition! It cost almost $6000! So I'm gonna have to work hard and try to get some donations! Though I know with God anything is possible!!!!!! So I'm not sweating any of it!!!

So there is a difference in being Baptized "in" the Holy Spirit and "with" the Holy Spirit!
I just know there is no limits to God and his mighty power! He has so many beautiful things waiting for those who love him and are obident! I truly desire whatever gift he has in his will for me! Though I know we only get such things for his glory!
I guess there is so many questions and things I want to know that will take time!!!!!!

It depends on who you talk to. Most non-Charismatic (non-Pentecostal) denominations say they are the same thing.
However almost all Pentecostal denominations will say they are two different events.

The disciples didn't get it while they were with Jesus. They got it after He ascended back to heaven. (Acts 2)
Cornelius (Acts 10), The disciples at Ephesus (Acts 19) and Saul/Paul all got baptized in the Spirit some time after they had been saved for a while.

Great! Good for you. I have been involved with YWAM in the past. They are one of the oldest, and largest teen discipling ministries in the world.
They have a bit of a Pentecostal lean, but that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Congratulations on your baptism! It's an amazing feeling and no wonder we're called to do it after we've received Christ as savior.

Just a note, being baptized with water is symbolic of your new faith. Receiving Christ is when you're baptized with the Holy Spirit.

God bless your new journey with Him!

Also I was wondering if anyone here speaks in tongues?
Yes, I do.
In 1996 a man opened up his Bible and showed me the scriptures pertaining to the full salvation gospel.
He started in John 3, Luke 11:9-13; and then went to Mark 16:15-20-20, Acts 2:1-4 and Acts 2:37-40; along with Acts 10:42-48; and Acts 18:25-26;
moving on to Acts 19:1-7; Jude 1:17-21. By now you will see a consistent teaching in the scriptures that is easy to understand and obtain for ourselves.
Much is also explained in John 14, John 16:1-16, and John 17:

Jesus, our Lord, our God, our Saviour, spoke these words himself:

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.

These are probably the most contentious verses for all of Christian faiths and doctrines today. Many even assert that they are not true and have been
inserted by unknown persons desiring to limit Christian faith and the gospel to the Book of Acts and the epistles.

But the truth of the matter is that these verses are still applicable today and those who embrace the Pentecost [not charismatic/evangelical] but true Bible obedient
disciplined Pentecost experience fully these verses. I have.
I did so on the 1st December 1996, on a Sunday afternoon some 32 days after my water baptism by full immersion. Seeking to receive [to be baptized in]
the Holy Spirit, I burst forth out in tongues, just as Jesus said I would, and I instantly knew by revelation that Jesus is truth, and that he is my God and Saviour.
That very afternoon I went home a new person having been set free instantly healed from 26 years or more of alcohol drinking, marijuana and cigarette smoking.
I was an intravenous junkie shooting up heroine and speed (amphetamines) and was also instantly healed from this addiction as well.
In my Pentecostal Church - The Revival Fellowship - we all have wonderful testimonies to being born new again and in being healed, along with miracles, our
Lord's provision and blessings, divine protection, and much much more.

Acts 2:38-39 is the declaration of the gospel by none other that Peter who had just experienced the New Covenant that would now replace the Temple and animal sacrifices.

Why do we need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in new tongues.
Speaking in tongues is also the ability to pray in the Spirit, that is to pray in the Holy Spirit as Jude 1:20 commands disciples to do.
To pray in the Spirit is to activate the work and power of the indwelling Spirit to teach us and correct us and to communicate much more intimately with Jesus and
our Father - as we speak in the tongues of God and the angels. We live and experience the Book of Acts and the Epistles.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke,
although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me,
from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

But ye have an unction [anointing] from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1John 2:20
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you,
ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 1John 2:24
But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1John 2:27

And he that keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1John 3:24

Do you believe that this verse is true? Do you believe in Jesus as your Saviour? Do you believe in the gospel of salvation?
Here too like Acts 2:38, God has summarised the gospel in one verse that reinforces the simplicity of the message, the gospel, what it is all about.
Angelena, you do not have to take my word and my postings as the deciding motivation to believe what I have shared with you.
Pray to Jesus for the truth. Pray for Jesus to send truth-bearers to you. Challenge Jesus to reveal the true gospel to you.
Seek and you shall find. Ask and keep on asking. Most Pentecostal worshippers have been converted by the preaching of the gospel to them.
I was challenged myself and did not embrace it wholeheartedly at first, not understanding anything spiritual nor any scriptures.
BUT I prayed to Jesus to confirm what I had heard. I prayed for Jesus to lead me to the true gospel.
And you know what? He did. He answered my prayers and kicked my butt all the way over to a small suburban hall where I met people rejoicing in the Lord.
He proved himself again when he filled me with the Holy Spirit and I spoke out in new tongues - my own prayer language.
He rewarded me with heaps and heaps of miracles, healings, blessings and much answered prayer; not just for myself but for so many others as well, yes,
even for unbelievers.

Wow thank you so much your post have helped me so much!! I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for me!! To share the gospel with others, planting seeds for the Lord to water!! I know the life ahead me is going to be filled with great joy from the Lord helping others and brining then to know the Love of Christ!! I pray for the whole world to know the love of Christ! I feel like people try to put limits on God and what he can do! Though there is no end to all the beautiful things he can do for us if we just believe and allow him to!! God led me to James 1 the other day when I was out on a walk and it was him telling me I was doubting him! This pains me to think I have doubt but maybe I do!! Just pray for me!! To have guidence in whatever path Jesus wants me to be on!!! Thank you so much for all your help! God bless you :)

I have to be honest this post has given me so much hope! I guess I see why God has brought me James 1 saying I was doubting!
Right before and after my baptism I honestly thought something else was suppose to happen or I was suppose to feel a certain way! I guess that everyone around me kept saying that amazing things were gonna happen, and I know that they will! Though it will take time..... God works in perfect timing, though I sometimes get worried that something is wrong because it isn't happening! Though this testimoney has really helped me! You didn't receive tongues until 32 days after being baptized! I have to ask God for forgiveness for ever doubting him and ask for Paitence!!!!
Thank you so very much :)

As far as speaking in tongues, it is not a sign of your salvation or faithfulness. 1 Cor. chapter 12 says a lot about it. It is given to some and not others because we are all part of one body but are given different gifts for Gods purposes. If you speak in tongues, great, if not, great as well, God has given you a different gift. Just remember:

And I will show you a still more excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. (1 Corinthians 12:31 -13:1-3 ESV)

God bless you on your life journey and keep studying the scriptures for yourself.
