There are times when we can get caught up in doing so many things, with constantly being on the go. It could be serving others, working, etc. At times we feel overwhelmed and may even ask the Lord for help. I've for sure been guilty of this.

I truly believe sitting/resting at His feet is the true antidote to all of life's problems. It's a state of inquiring more of Jesus and His Word. Being filled with His presence and peace. It brings you to a place of intimacy with Him, and it goes deeper.

Don't choose to get caught up in this world or its problems, but let's choose the good part that won't be taken away!

When was the last time you've truly sat at His feet?

38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Thank you, Jasmine! Yes, absolutely, resting at his feet is the true antidote to all life's troubles. Amen!

Sad how so many times God may drop in our heart to do something and in all truth we just can not find the time to do so.

So we cry out to God asking Him how can this be, I am already way to busy to even rest?

Then it happens , God says yes you are way to busy doing things I never asked you too nor did you ask Me about doing them.

As @Jasmine has reminded us.
Resting in Him is Vitally Important
Blessings to you

Greetings,

without steering too far from the original post here I wanted to add a thought about Mary, sitting at the feet of the master and Martha, her sister who most reason as complaining to Jesus that Mary was not helping her.

From this we might think that Mary was not all that bothered with housework and the reason she was sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening, was at least in part because she thought little of shirking her responsibilities whereas Martha took her role and responsibilities seriously and was possibly much more industrious, generally, than Mary.
However, there is nothing to suggest this (that I am aware of) and for all we know, Mary might well have been the one who usually took the brunt of the housework and duties and taking time out was not the usual but was in fact (possibly- as i am only putting forward a suggestion here) a decision she felt quite in her right to make.
I can't imagine that Mary was a slacker and would look for any opportunity to run from work and that Jesus was supporting this kind of attitude.
I know that this is not what is usually suggested either here or elsewhere but after years of seeing this Scripture and hearing it and reading it referred to, I have found myself being OK about doing the Jesus thing in preference to anything else, not because I am lazy but because it is of far greater value, which can breed a wrong attitude to work that needs to be done every day and justified by the excuse that sitting at the feet of Jesus is a better and more righteous act.
Doing the responsibilities around the home are still important and should be tended to with the strength that the Lord gives every hand to do with. It is seen here in this well written OP by Jasmine that there does come a time when the things of the Lord do take precedence over the daily duties we each find ourselves doing and to sit at His feet is not something to feel guilty about at all nor something to accuse another of doing.

If we have been dutiful in our daily affairs we have every right to take time out and listen to the Lord.
We can of course listen and should listen even when doing our work, whether it be around the home or out of home at some form of service given for exchange or not, but to realise when the Lord has something He really wants us to hear, to notice and realise that the time for hearing Him is now, is a priority that no man or woman should ever attempt to take from another.

Mary might have been a very hard working sister and Martha might have been complaining because she had to do it all this time and that without Mary carrying her normal heavy load. Do we know? Not really, but the point we need to see in this message from Scripture that Jasmine has shared with us is that we do right and do choose a better portion when we do see the time to listen and take it.

It is very important to NOT neglect doing so.
Taking time out to listen to the Lord is not being lazy. It is not something to feel guilty about and if ever anyone attempts to make you feel that way... trust in the Lord Who you are listening to and enjoy the fact that He has come to you ot the time He has.

We don't know the time we have before us, so do NOT lose and throw away the opportunity to sit at His feet. He will honour your doing so.

May the Lord bless all those who do sit at His feet to listen ....><>

You've pointed out many great points! Praise God! My joy and peace comes from sitting at His feet. It truly makes a difference within your life. As you stated, we must not throw away that opportunity. All glory to GOD!

I'm afraid this world is the only one you have, thinking you are not of this world doesn't leave you anything to work with. Sitting at Jesus feet might give you soft feelings, but we need more than feelings to relate to the world around us.

@cmd73 , I pray that your day is filled with many blessings. I also pray that your eyes be opened and you have ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.

But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. - John 17:13-16

For me, sitting at the feet of Jesus is more than "soft feelings", it's all about experiencing Him, getting to know Him, and walking in His ways.

Romans 12:2 states- Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Be blessed!

Sitting at the feet of Jesus, for me at least, includes not only time in my "prayer closet", but also being in tune with Him during the activities of everyday life, whether I'm at work or how I interact with others. Still a work in progress, but I have begun to see transformation on the inside.
