1 Peter 1:23-25

King James Version (KJV)

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1 Peter 1:23-25

The Message (MSG)

22-25 Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it. Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal *****; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! That’s why the prophet said,
The old life is a grass life,
its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers;
Grass dries up, flowers droop,
God’s Word goes on and on forever.

This is the Word that conceived the new life in you.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

23 We are born by the Spirit as believers. We grow in faiththru obeying Him which includes reading the word and spreading the gospel andgoing to Him in prayer. We were living to please our flesh now we should liveto please Him. We should sow fuit of the Spirit and not the things of theflesh.

24-25 People will come and go leaders, nations, cities butthe word lasts forever. Nothing can stop the word from spreading people havetried and failed. Rometried to kill all the Christians but decided to accept Christianity because itbecame stronger than they were. Men were killed for their faith such men asWycliffe and Tyndale. People are hated for their faith and put in prison forsimply preaching the gospel of Christ. The word is something every follower ofChrist has received and is something they all should share as well.

Hi clark thompson, my personal view of 1 Peter 1:23-25 is as follows.

1 Peter 1:23, (NIV) says: "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."

An individual who truly has the heavenly calling never needs to ask fellow Christians if he has such a hope. Such ones have been given a new birth, not by corruptible, but by incorruptible reproductive seed. By his spirit and Word, God implants this "seed" that makes the individual "a new creation," with a heavenly hope. (2 Corinthians 5:17) God makes this choice. As regards those who he been saves but do not have a heavenly calling. The bible says when Jesus rules over the earth for 1000 years and those who are taken to heaven rule with him over those left over on the earth after Armageddon. (Revelation 5:10) Then those spared can have the hope of living forever in a paradise earth after Satan is let loose and has tested mankind to God's satisfaction. (Revelation 20:1-4) Many people fail to ask the simple question, what would have happened to Adam and Eve if they had not sinned. The simple answer is they would have kept on living, as death was not a part of God's purpose for mankind. (Genesis 1:28) God's purpose is still to fill the earth with faithful righteous people, that is why Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth.

1 Peter 1:24, 25, (NIV) says: "For, All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord stands for ever. And this is the word that was preached to you."

With all his egotistical academic knowledge and scientific ability, the fleshly materialistic man will never begin to compare to the "riches of glory" of the new creation in union with Christ Jesus. However, with the use of his knowledge and scientific understanding, it should have dawned on him the complexity of creation and how he is so intelligently created. His telescopes should have told him that even the material universe is an expanse far beyond his power to probe. The eternity of time is also beyond the comprehension of mortal man. Mankind today occupies the tiniest speck of boundless space and lives in a fleeting moment of an infinity of time. Just like the grass, fleshly mankind blossoms for an instant, then dies. However, the man of God is wise enough to exercises faith in God's Word. That is why Peter quoted Isaiah 40:6-8, (NIV) which says: "A voice says, "Cry out." And I said, "What shall I cry?" "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. 7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands for ever."
