December 23rd 2012 the world ends, or does it? The bible states that no man will know the hour nor the day the world comes to an end, so that basically solves that problem. And not to mention the world was suppose to end in 1986, 2000, 2006 and in 2011, not yet here. So how can we trust anyone who says the world will end? Yes possibly what scientists say is true and that on that day the earth will be in perfect alignment with the center of the milky way the sun and the moon but they have no idea what effect that will have on the Earth. And also how could be the end, the end is on 2011. Supposing we are all to be raptured on 2011, don't remember the date and don't care, but if that is true how could 2012 be true. It's a bunch of superstitious hooey. We are not to know when the end is to come, and don't tell me I'm wrong because then you'll be saying God is wrong as well because these are his words not mine.

I would also like to add that to believe 2012 is the end of the world would be to mix your religions...which God clearly warns against in the Bible. These thoughts are of the Mayans, not of the Bible. For the world to end in 2012 we would need a considerable amount of prophecy to occur within the next two years. Jesus tells us that the end of days will not come until every single prophecy told to us from Him is fulfilled. That means that every single one could come true but one. That one will stop the end times from occurring.
This is how we have the knowledge of when the end times will come. We can know the generation in which it is to occur, but not the day nor the time. Could this be the last generation? Possibly. Is it close enough to tell for 100% sure? Probably not.

Yes, no one knows the day nor the hour when Jesus is coming back. Since you cannot know the day nor the hour, there is no way that the Mayan prediction is true. Plus Jesus also stated that His return will happen when we least expect it!

people also don't take into account that the mayan calendar as cyclical, and it ends in 2012 because, that is when it starts over.

Well I will tell you that in fact the world will not end in 2012, Sure there are going to be some changes in this world, I'm a catholic and there is a prayer we do to GOD which is called the "Glory be" and it goes like this...Glory be to The Father The Son and The Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning is now and always shall be WORLD WITHOUT END amen..
Now that has been the prayer for a very long time aside from the "Our Father" prayer..
But there is one part where JESUS gives us a very clear knowledge and that pertains to the Rapture and that is in Matthew 24 31-35
The parable of the fig tree when JESUS after that stated that Surely this Generation shall not pass away till all these things are fulfilled
That is the only knowledge we have as to when believers will be removed
