Blessed are the dead , which die in the Lord
Revelation 14:13

A friend wrote these words on Facebook...

"These brothers and sisters risk their lives every day to reach the lost for Jesus!

Are we willing to risk anything to share Jesus truth?
Is our concern for the lost really greater than our concern for our reputations, our relationships, our careers, our possessions and our comfort?
Forgive us Lord Jesus"

From article in Washington Press: Kim Jong-un calls for execution of 33 Christians.

North Korea tyrant Kim Jong-un has reportedly ordered that 33 Christians believed to be working alongside South Korean Baptist missionary Kim Jung-wook be put to death.
The South Korean missionary — who was arrested last year — and his accomplices have reportedly started 500 or so underground churches, Breitbart reported.
South Korean press cited by The Daily Mail reported that Mr. Kim has charged that the 33 are attempting to overthrow the government — the same accusation that led to the execution of the North Korean leader’s uncle, Jang Song-thaek, and all Mr. Jang’s relatives.

The missionary accomplices will be put to death in a cell of the State Security Department, The Daily Mail reported.

Their announced executions come just a day after reports surfaced that North Korea’s Number Two, Choe Ryong Hae, hasn’t been seen at several recent public events he normally would have attended — fueling talk that perhaps he’s the latest to be purged from Mr. Kim’s government

Any update on this?

Greetings @faithfulservant

I haven't seen any updated news on this.
In many ways it would perhaps be better if these dear brothers and sisters were with the Lord than suffering at the hands of the Kim Jong un regime.

Let us remember the plight of these Korean Christians with much prayer. Most of us here at Talk Jesus will know nothing of suffering for our Lord.

Give us more compassion O Lord.

And they shall see His face
Revelation 22:4

They have my prayers, but if ROK goes ahead with the executions, due to hardness of heart, I pray that their faith would be as Stephan's, and his accusers would take note of it and turn from their evil ways.

ROK is not the first kingdom to feel threatened by Christs message .and will not be the last ! ...Rev

Keeping them in prayer and spreading the word to others to join in for them and their families.
Keeping always in mind to God's Glory!

Thanks for sharing sister.

Here is a small excerpt from an article I read recently in a magazine supporting religious liberty throughout the world..

As Egypt’s Copts have battled the worst attacks on the Christian minority since the fourteenth century, the bad news for Christians in the region keeps coming. On SundayTaliban suicide bombers killed at least 85 worshippers at All Saints’ Church, which has stood since 1883 in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan. Christians were also the target of Islamic fanatics inthe attack on a shopping center in Nairobi, Kenya that killed more than 70 people. The Associated Press reported that the Somali Islamic militant group al-Shabab “confirmed witness accounts that gunmen separated Muslims from other people and let the Muslims go free.” The captiveswere asked questions about Islam. If they couldn’t answer, they were shot.

In Syria,Christians are under attack by Islamist rebels and fear extinction if Bashar al-Assad falls. This month rebels overran the historic Christian town of Maalula, where many of its inhabitants speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus. The Agence France-Presse reported that a resident of Maalula called her fiancé’s cell phone and was told by a member of the Free Syrian Army that they had given him a chance to convert to Islam and he had refused. So they’d slit his throat.

The article also mentions the killing of Christians in Iran, and the constant assault, rape, and abuse of Christians throughout the Middle East at the hands of Islamic fanatics. The article also chides western Christianity at its lack of action with regards this. At present there is a bill gathering dust before the US senate which if passed would provide an envoy whose speciofic job would be to be an advocate for Christian in the Middle east. It seems that apathy has allowed this bill, not for the first time, to languish unheard. Is this a case of praying for the plight of those poor souls but not doing anything practical that could hel;p them? Like saying 'Be blessed with water' but with-holding the glass in your hand?
Perhapps American Christians are in a unique position to do something more than pray. Write your senators...pester them to pass this bill. Get in their collective ears. The Christian community has great influence in the uS with regard other issues...how about the persecutions of their own brothers and sisters?

It especially bad there because the Government includes as part of its doctrine the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Except the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are replaced with the leadership. They even incorporated the use of hymns! Christianity threatens the status quo with the truth. A while back someone posted a thread on Bible in Balloons (Could have been face book. Getting old!), their mission is to have the truth to be sent into ROK so the people might know the true Trinity. Googled it and found the site. Awesome testimony, and sadness upon sadness in stories like this that do not ever get noticed by man but most assuredly is seen and being heard of in Heaven to the glory of God.

Great thread. While reading it I am reminded that these stories of Christian persecution seem to slowly be cropping up in more and more parts of the world. And whereas it was once thought to be an isolated occurrence the number of Christians killed for their faith doubled in 2013 from 2012.

Indeed, it is time for those of us in the free Western who believe to really take stock of what's important in our lives and begin spreading the message while we still have the luxury of doing so without being persecuted.
