I woke up this morning to a dream, In this dream there were 2 pieces of rope, one of the ropes had 5 knots in it (like a climbing rope) the other rope had no knots in it at all.
This is what i personally thought
imagine these two ropes as two lives.
il start off with wot came to mind first, the rope without the knots is gods will for our lives, it is straight, narrow, smooth, no obstacles, and its noticably longer than the rope with the knots in it, therefore if we choose that path we will live longer and have a smoother transition in our lives.
The rope with the 5 knots in it, is considerably shorter, and has these 5 obstacles which are hindrances to our walk, we need to get rid of these knots in our life by asking god to take them away.
I prayed and asked the lord what this was about, and i believe he showed me later on today when i listened to a sermon on 5 hindrances to hearing Gods voice.
I thought to myself whooa maybe this is the 5 knots? so i will write them down
1. Unbelief
Romans ch 4:20
He did not waver at the promise of god thru unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to god (talking about Abraham)
Hebrews ch 3:18 & 19
And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who did not obey? so we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.
How can god communicate with us, when we don't believe and shut him out?
God is like radio waves they are always there but we need to tune in to them.
Then believe what he says and act on it.
2. Undeveloped spirit
1st Thessalonians ch 5:23
Now may the god of peace himself sanctify you completely and may your Whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our lord Jesus Christ.
Romans ch 8:5
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit, the things of the spirit.
We as Christians have greatly developed emotions and senses, and trust in these senses more than we trust in the spirit, we must learn to trust with our whole spirit and not with our emotions therefore we have an undeveloped spirit.
3. Spirit of Deafness
Ephesians ch 4:25-27 & 30
Therefore put away lying. "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor" for we are members of one another. "Be angry and do not sin" do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
When these obstacles of unforgivness, resentment, jealousy, bitterness etc get into our mind and we dwell on them they are only from the devil and he will pre occupy and torment us with these thoughts until we hand them over to god, therefore our signal from god is there but we have created our own deafness to his voice, we are listening to the devils voice instead of gods.
4.Hard Heart (Insensitive)
The voice of the spirit is always speaking, but sometimes we willfully rebel against whats being said to us.
Our conscience says do this and we ignore it, we violate our conscience and do what ever feels good at the time.
If we keep on doing this then we become hard hearted and insensitive to his voice and therefore look to other means of fulfillment to satisfy that craving to hear from god.
5. Neglect
If we don't spend time in gods word then how can we hear his voice?
Neglect thru lack of prayer, lack of fellowship, lack of attendance to church, etc etc
Wrong thinking leads to wrong decisions that leads to wrong actions and that leads to wrong habits to wrong character and finally wrong destination.
however the bible leads to right thinking - right decisions - right actions - right habits - right character and finally right destination - Heaven!
John ch 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and i know them, and they follow me.
In Jesus name i pray that this will help us all hear you voice more clearly, help us to ignore the hustle and bustle of life and spend time in your presence.
Thankyou father for everything.
