The more i study Pauls epistles,Galatians especially, i am inclined to believe the Temple had to be destroyed in order for Christianity to flourish. Christ predicted the ruin and there was no more need for Temple worship and sacrifices. It had to go. Jesus had come and the church age was born.
I always knew the ruin was prophesied, never wondered why.

A House of Prayer had became a "TEMPLE of Demonic WORSHIP" and not a House of PRAYER" and most Christians still do not get it, plain English and don't want to get it. "For men Love darkness rather The LIGHT" All humans!! saved and unsaved.
