Should I go to A.A. meetings or are they not good for us Christians?

I had a relapse from alcohol yesterday and feel really bad, like I let God and my husband down badly. I feel very ashamed.

But should I start going to A.A. meetings or just get my pastor (when I go back to church again), to pray for me and keep going to church?

Thanks...

Love, Peace, & God bless,
Leana Jo H.

Definitely talk to your Pastor. The AA meetings cannot be bad for you either. Accountability and a good support group is great just as long as you keep Jesus at the center of your life.

A.A. will probably be more understanding and of more support. Unfortunately, many pastors do not understand such things. Just as Boanerges said, keep Christ at the center. Give it all to Him; He's already forgiven you. All you have to do is ask. God bless you, sister.

Thanks everyone.

I found a few that are in the next few days this week. Starting tomorrow afternoon, I will start going to some.

Glory be to God!

As the daughter of an alcoholic and ex-wife of one, I'm glad to see you want to rid yourself of this addiction. You've been given good advice. I encourage you to stay with it and keep Christ ever before you.

alcohol

I can relate to your struggle.. i am a recovering alcoholic. I have been sober for 4 years now, but i still want to drink. I treid AA once, but i decided that it is not for me,because it is not a christian program. I know addiction is huge giant to overcome, but through the strength of Christ, you can do it. Hang in there,, stay encouraged and dont beat yourself up. You have a desire in your heart to stop drinking, and that is at least a start. i will keep ypu lifted up in my prayers.. LOve in Christ..
