A Black Columnist speaks on Obama

It's an amazing time to be alive in America. We're in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first front running freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won't truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won't arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender. Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

The reality is this: Though the Democrats will not have a nominee until August, unless Hillary Clinton drops out, Mr. Obama is now the frontrunner, and its time America takes a closer and deeper look at him. Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy.
He's not. He's the next George McGovern. And it's time people learned the facts.

Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton. Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant. Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the UnitedStates of America. But let's look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial "beauty."

Start with national security, since the president's most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on "the rich."How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

Finally, look at the social issues. Mr. Obama had the audacity to open a stadium rally by saying, "All praise and glory to God!" but says that Christian leaders speaking for life and marriage have "hijacked" - hijacked - Christianity. He is pro-partial birth abortion, and
promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional. He espouses the abortion views of Margaret Sanger, one of the early advocates of racial cleansing. His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage, and he is moving in that direction.&n bsp;In Illinois, he refused to vote against a statewide ban - ban - on all handguns in the state. These are radical left, Hollywood, and San Francis co values, not Middle America values.

The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don't start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches. His vision of "bringing America together" means saying that those who
disagree with his agenda for America are hijackers or warmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.

But right now everyone is talking about how eloquent of a speaker he is and - yes - they're talking about his race. Those should never be the factors on which we base our choice for president. Mr. Obama's radical agenda sets him far outside the American mainstream, to
the left of Mrs. Clinton.

It's time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let's first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilizational war.

A good read straight to the point. I, myself, cannot comprehend how so many people are bedazzled by this man. It is almost as if he has a spell on the masses.

Having watched the run up to selection in this political party, I have favoured the young man Obama.

The Clintons are a powerful and experienced force, but 'selfseeking' is so paramount in their proclamations, and so carnal. When Pres Clinton was in office the U.S. moved into the black, first time for many years. In the U.K. we also prospered as a result.

I pray this young man will have the skills to again lift the West........we need it.

This guy lost me when he tried to connect the anti Christ with obama...

I'm sorry, but I was expecting anti-christ discussions if either party won. Yes Obama is the best canidate ( him and all the other current nominees in the past ) because he's labeled Muslim by the church, and as crazy as it may seem muslims apparently are likeable.

I was listening to this radio show around 2am and this lady was saying people are looking at him as though he's the messiah, they don't care about anything he says or do because he's the man........is she saying Americans are iliterate and easily persuaded.

I think not, with the war, the economy and other issues in hand..I find it impossible for a pretty smile and nice words to win the majority over.

I thought the pope was the anti- Christ, I can't count the emails I got about him.

I think it's tasteless if these things are circulating to sway votes...if Hillary won the conservative church would have tied her into the last days. Because the bible says a woman should not rule over a man. Their would have been emails circulating that God is coming sooner than we think.

Lets just say these claims are real.
What are we afraid of, shouldn't we be happy the anti-Christ is here, that means the rapture is going to be within the next year or two.

If we are all ready..who the anti-christ is or if he's elected shouldn't matter...right ?

The guy won ( big suprise to me..seriously I am )..now all we can do is sit back and let God do his thing.

I think it only natural to work out who the anti-christ will be, Revelations tells us it is the number of a man and let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast. So it is not something we should ignore or not be interested in just because it is already prophesied and inevitably going to take place. BUT always our attention & focus must be on our Lord and saviour daily (like a laserbeam). The anti-christ will surely come with persuasive and seducing words and ways (yes, just as if he has a spell over the people!!!) and people will be queing up for his solutions to the world's problems - namely the chip, it's been here a while already. Crime and the cost of living HAS to esculate in order to bring the chip into our daily existence and for it to 'make sense' and be the answer to the world's problems, 'get rid of cash - get rid of crime!'

I stay in a small backyard town (Brakpan) of Johannesburg in South Africa and our ATM machines are being blown up at least 3x a month in this small town, about 12-15 guys jump out of their vehicles, surround the block with their AK47's and just go for it. Robberies in broad day light, muggings, murders, this week a syndicate was bust for child trafficking, beggars, druggies, prostitutes (we see them on our way to the shop for a loaf of bread),highjackings, housebreaks, in this town, such a small town and such explosive end time signs right here in my face, i can only imagine what's happening out there, besides the stories and news in the media, he's here allright, satan has set the stage and is about to make his grand entrance, should we be surprised? - hek no - aware, awake, watchful, know the signs of the times, yes, yes, yes.

Scary, exciting? VERY - COME LORD JESUS COME,we await your return with such anticipation and longing my King, my Lord, My God, the LOVER OF OUR SOULS, what a wonderful name, the name of JESUS, he touched me, he loved me, he wants me, I AM HIS FOREVER - HALLELUJAH - and by the way whenever I leave my house to go shopping in town (which is often) well lets just say my 'speaking in tongues' vocabulary is growing at a rapid rate - lol - praise God, my protector.

Like the Lord says in Mathew, alot of us have eyes to see and ears to hear, but we atually make the choice not to! (ouch! Lord empower us to WANT to see and hear in Jesus name)

I remeber visions the Lord gave to Rick Joyner about muslim's becoming the dominant force all over the globe. America will no longer show Israel favour but rather turn against her in a most ferocious way. God wants to get all the Jews back to their land but because they have been settled in different countries worldwide for decades and generations, they are reluctant to uproot their lives. So the muslims begin to persecute them mercilessly and relentlessly, christians begin opening their homes and hearts to them, hiding them, enabling them to get back to Israel, putting their very lives at risk, and THEN the Jews begin to witness our relationship with Jesus truly first hand, and many of them turn to the true messaiah and their homeland. Then christians also begin to get persecuted really bad as well (universally) and Rick describes this event in his vision as such "the atrocities that happen then will make the Holocaust look like a 'butt rehearsal'.

This shook me to my core, because in that vision there was no 'rapture' coming to the rescue for us christians. We were also being persecuted relentlessly and unmercifully. Please don't get me wrong I do believe in the Rapture, but the timing of it, well I guess we don't have a choice but to wait and see. The Word mentions a coupla times that christians must face many many hardships, are we ready, are we strong, are we prepared to die for our Lord, are we prepared to maybe see our loved ones being tortured and raped and still confess Jesus!! My heart breaks at the mere thought of these events, but come they will and come they must. I am by no means ready for any of this, I just stay in the Lord MUCH as I can. I belieive, I declare, I confess, I proclaim and aggressively shout the scriptures, GOD IS MY DELIVERER, GOD IS MY ROCK, GOD IS MY REFUGE, GOD IS MY STRENGTH, GOD IS MY HIGHETOWER, GOD IS MY FORTRESS, GOD IS THE STRONGHOLD OF MY LIFE, He has not given me a spirit of fear, but of Love, Power and a Sound Mind, and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord... I keep finding articles with this, but no one includes the scripture.
Can someone post the chapter and verse for me...

In a conversation, I don't want it to sound like a " conspiracy theory". My associates prefer to have the facts laid infront of them, they don't go with the wind.

It would be helpful for me, if someone can post it.

I don't recall it saying anything about 40's. But, the rest of the article/email is very interesting since it does mention a lot of historical truth that should really open our eyes and get us on our knees to pray. The time is coming soon.

Yeah, I have looked for a description like that in the Bible, but it does not exist. There is much speculation that the Antichrist would fit such a description, but I think that misrepresenting scripture was rather irresponsible of whoever wrote this or added that in.

Nevertheless, I do agree that the article is very telling about the man who may hold the most powerful public position in the world. A little research into this man's ideals and connections reveals that he is conversly opposed to what the leader of the free world ought to personify. Not that the alternatives are a whole lot better. :shock:

I think Mr. Blackwell pulled that info from a work of fiction. While I respect him and would consider supporting him politically, he's a lot more concerned with politics than he is with the Bible.

Hello Brother Chad, I don't know much about poltics nor do I care for them it always seems to have chaos and confusion with its own type of violence involved,but what I do know is that every bit of the word of GOD is coming to past. Scripture says that we should be sober,vigelent,aware our eyes wide open to all testing the spirits. I tell you I have been watching how the uro dollar is coming , the mark is coming, but I stand on the word of GOD being about my Fathers business and if we the ones who are sold out to God stand for righteousness and acknowledge that no sickness nor diease shall fall upon our dwelling that we have a banner over us all this war and rumor of wars. The news and all its negative stuff will not phase us because we serve an awesome God I feel good being able to rest at night and trust GOD got the whole world in His hand good and bad I can' t loose and neither can the bretheren be strong in what you believe and watch GOD move.
