A disturbing dilemma

Hello everyone!

I have a question that's been bothering me for some time now. I will use a hypothetical situation to explain it. If I have a friend, (I'll call her Betty,) who is wronged by Anne and I see Anne during the course of the day, where do my loyalties lie? Should I not speak to Anne out of loyalty to Betty, or should I infact have an attitude of not judging in regard to the whole situation and speak to Anne in a friendly manner.

On the one hand I want to have the attitude of Christ and not condemn Anne; yet on the other hand I feel a certain loyalty towards Betty, and it could be considered a betrayal if I spoke to the person who had hurt her.

Fortunately this has never happened to me yet; but I've come close to this situation a couple of times, and I've always wondered what I would do. I'd appreciate any advice, especially scripture, on the subject.

Thank you.

we must love without partiallity ..GOD will do the rest .......Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

I understand your are in a difficult situation,

Colossians 3:25 - but he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

Deuteronomy 19:15
One witness shall not rise against a man concerning any iniquity or sin that he commits, by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established.

James 5:9
Do not grumble against one another, bretheren, lest you be condemned. Behold the judge is standing at the door!

I believe you should pray and wait on God, cast all your cares on him, ask for wisdom in how to approach the situation when you see anne, as your flesh will want to say something, God will supply your needs at that time, and before you know it, God will have done his work on anne, we need to be meek.

hope this helps
your in my prayers

Rahni,

You spoke the solution in your post; having the mind of Christ. It sounds as if your relationship with "Betty" is more important than your relationship with God. That's idolatry (EX 20: 2-3). An idol is any thing or any person you put ahead of God in your life.

To have the mind of Christ you must show love to both "Betty" and "Anne" because "God does not show favoritism." (Rom 2:11)

Focus your attention on your relationship with The Lord Jesus more than your relationships with your friends in the world.

bring my soul out of prision that i may praise thy name the rightous shall compass me about for thou shalt deal bountifully with me psalm142:7
we are all sinners and prisioners of something we may not be behind bars but nither are we totally free whether we are a prisioner of sin or of fear or poor health we still ask our father to hear our our prayer and give us perfect freedom. brothers and sisters are to give guidence and support by showing one another the way to freedom through their love and compassion . then when one is free let them the same help others who need encouragnent in their struggles.

fear god and obey his comandments for this is the duty of every person god will judge us for everything we do including every secret thing whether good or bad ecclesiastes 12:13-14

I can see clearly now...

Thank you all for your help in this matter. You have all made it clear to me that I should put Christ and His will first and let Him take care of the rest.
My loyalty to Jesus does indeed come before my loyalty to my friend.

I appreciate the time you all took to reply to my problem and I hope God blesses you all as much as you have blessed me.

Very happy now, :)
Rahni.
