Stephen wrote an excellent article, regarding maintaining a Holy lifestyle. Just wondering what each of you think about living a Holy life.
Isaiah 30:29 (Whole Chapter)
And you will sing as on the night you celebrate a holy festival; your hearts will rejoice as when people go up with flutes to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel.
Sometimes people get very pious, when it comes to loving the Lord. Isaiah shows us, that we can be Holy and rejoice. Jesus was full of joy in the Holy Spirit too.
# Luke 10:21 (Whole Chapter)
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
Peter tells us to be repentent and then we will be full of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38 (Whole Chapter)
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In Romans, having the Holy Spirit means peace and joy.
Not only so, but we[c] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Finally one more biblical quote, regarding Holiness.
Romans 15:13 (Whole Chapter)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
To me, Holy means to rejoice in the Spirit and when that is not possible, to wait upon Him who sent the Holy Spirit to us. Patience, love, kindness, an honest heart, forgiveness, all these loving actions bring us closer to God. Honesty and repentance when one errs, is a must in maintaining a healthy and Holy Spirit filled life.
What do you think it means to be Holy? I would certainly love to read about it and learn. This is a voyage of Christ we are on. Hoping that when your boats rock, you will not fear.
