Stephen wrote an excellent article, regarding maintaining a Holy lifestyle. Just wondering what each of you think about living a Holy life.

Isaiah 30:29 (Whole Chapter)
And you will sing as on the night you celebrate a holy festival; your hearts will rejoice as when people go up with flutes to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel.

Sometimes people get very pious, when it comes to loving the Lord. Isaiah shows us, that we can be Holy and rejoice. Jesus was full of joy in the Holy Spirit too.

# Luke 10:21 (Whole Chapter)
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

Peter tells us to be repentent and then we will be full of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 (Whole Chapter)
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

In Romans, having the Holy Spirit means peace and joy.

Not only so, but we[c] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Finally one more biblical quote, regarding Holiness.

Romans 15:13 (Whole Chapter)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

To me, Holy means to rejoice in the Spirit and when that is not possible, to wait upon Him who sent the Holy Spirit to us. Patience, love, kindness, an honest heart, forgiveness, all these loving actions bring us closer to God. Honesty and repentance when one errs, is a must in maintaining a healthy and Holy Spirit filled life.

What do you think it means to be Holy? I would certainly love to read about it and learn. This is a voyage of Christ we are on. Hoping that when your boats rock, you will not fear.

Amen:)Pixie:sun: :rainbow:

Very well put and thank you for posting this pixie.

To be Holy - set apart for God. Sanctified. made Holy through Jesus

I remember a song called 'Holiness begins in the heart'

I like this song about holiness too.

Holiness, holiness is what I long for.
Holiness is what I need.
Holiness, holiness is what You
want from me.

Holiness, holiness is what I long for.
Holiness is what I need.
Holiness, holiness is what You
want from me.

So, take my heart and form it.
Take my mind and transform it.
Take my will and conform it.
To Yours, to Yours, oh, Lord.

Faithfulness, faithfulness is what I
long for.
Faithfulness is what I need.
Faithfulness, faithfulness is what.
You want from me.

Brokenness, brokenness is what I
long for.
Brokenness is what I need.
Brokenness, brokenness is what
You want from me.

God bless

Being Holy is what God wants from us and being a Christ like all comes from The Holy Spirit Just let Him in and let Him take control of our lives and lets see each other being transformed......GBU Praise God.

Holiness

The world we live in today is so full of sin, We have gotten used to it and are no longer shocked by it.
This is something so far removed from the world, It is very exciting to think about.
Still we are in the world but not of it. I am giving this a great deal of thought. Thanks for bringing it up.
I am getting old and am ready to go when God calls me

Just a bit of help I hope.
Holy = sacred, righteouse.
Synonyms = consecrated, hallowed, sanctified, blessed, divine.

"Holiness unto the Lord" is to be consecreated to His service for His honour and glory. To accomplish this one must be separate from the world and its practice in all manner of speaking, attire, attitude and worship.

Too many have a liberal or dim view of holiness in this day.

Being Holy.

When God's incorruptible seed is placed inside of us by the Holy Spirit we became sons and daughters of Christ. This happened when we we became "born again "

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again , not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible (seed) by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

"Holy" - to be sanctified and purified , to be separated , set apart. We are instantly holy because we are translated out of the kingdom of darkness into Christs Kingdom. ( Col 1:13) Our ownership likewise is transfered from satan to God. We are separated set apart for God, just as He is separate from the world. We are "consecrated" to God, Hallelujah.
Holy really means "purity" This is where "sanctification" comes into the picture.
Love this website , it gives me great pleasure to be with such knowledgeable people that i can learn from.
