Great idea Thomasb41, I think I might get one of those gadgets. I need to walk more aswell, also my dog is overweight, the vet chastises me each time we visit, my doggy has a thyroid problem, I feed her correctly, but I am laxed in the excercise department. So if I tie her and my needs together, then hey.. we'll both benefit. So thanks Thomas for your post.
I just got back from a lovely walk. I often use my walk time alone as a time special with Jesus and I. Today was the first alone walk in awhile and it was so great to be walking with my very best friend. Sometimes my thoughts went to other things as I walked but I guess that is how I am when walking with anyone. I love to enjoy the beauty of God's creation and great if exercise comes as a part of that!
The trouble that I have is that so often I want to make myself get tons of things done before I can go for a walk. This morning, I grabbed a banana and put my shoes on before I talked myself into doing all kinds of things around the house.
Walking is something I do every day with my dogs. The problem is they want to slow down and sniff or even leave their scent on a tree. I like for them to enjoy the walk as well.
Problem is..I don't think I am using enough speed to strengthen the heart and give you more stamina. So I think doing a little sprinting might help.
I have an Australian blue tic cattle dog and a Chiauchua that looks like the oppposite coloring of Bambi the deer...white with brown spots.
I don't get that much excersize walking my Chiauchua dog.
I also put lotion on my face that protects from the sun's rays.
It never fails that anytime one of my family relatives or a friend
that had to go to hospital or doctor for serious heart and cardio
problems..
they were told to take walks on a regular basis.
I have had problems with my veins being sluggish ,causing pain when I lay down to sleep.
Walking causes less injury on the joints, so my doctor told me to walk at least
three times a week to keep the blood flowing easier through my veins.
He said it will also give me more energy and good for relieving stress.
Just make it interesting for yourself. Some young people llisten to music while they walk .
I prefer listening to nature if its around ( some live in cities).
Read the other posts as well, they have already mentioned a few ideas.
You might prefer biking or excerise with a video using catchy music and excersizing moves.
There are also Gospel excersize videos out there.
Good Luck and think about what your gaining for yourself.

I use to love to walk i would try for seven miles each morning ,blasting out my music and mixing jogging and walking i felt like a millions dollars afterwards although because of now i were i live i no longer have that option but hey i still rock out in the gym, but there is notting like walking to fix everything from a bad mood to weight loss
