Greetings,

I am writing a simple, honest personal letter to all members of our wonderful community you're part of, www.talkjesus.com There are some things that I wish to bring to light and some other crucial subjects I'd like to cover here in this letter. I appreciate your time reading this and hope you are blessed by this letter.

Thank You

First, I want to thank you for being a member. I know life happens, we get caught up in distractions and a slew of other things in our daily living. Some members are more active than others, while some who have not logged in for years will come back and show gratitude for simple things as an outgoing newsletter email sent on a particular study topic that they found a blessing to them and enlightening. Wherever you are and where you stand, I appreciate that you're part of our community.

11 Years

Talk Jesus started technically in 2003, but there was a database mishap in early 2004 and I started all over from scratch, literally. It's been 11 years now and TJ continues to grow worldwide. I like to think of TJ has one of the best Christian forums, or online community there is without being biases. The reasons are from a few view points: 100% Truth spoken unapologetically, friendly, well moderated, clean design and easy user interface, no obtrusive advertisements and always free. It may be less popular than a few other Christian forums (I don't mean this competitively), but unfortunately those forums are clearly more open to debating the Scripture. This I believe is dangerous and to be blunt, an insult to the Cross. Talk Jesus Forums does not tolerate debates, but only fair and honest discussions, bible studies. Truth is never debatable.

Support

I humbly ask you all to show some sort of support as a community. A church gathering and congregation we all know costs money and time for the building, land, volunteers sacrificing their time to serve and so forth. Talk Jesus is a website, so the basic costs are far less. No land, no payrolls, just free membership. However, I have some faithful ambitions here.

Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

I would like to heavily advertise Talk Jesus forums en masse to the world. I want to reach as many people as possible with the Word of GOD. The Good News. So many people are completely washed up in distractions like social media newsfeed filled with junk and in and out fads, celebrity gossips, etc. It's too much information, too much distraction and wasting time. WE CAN DO BETTER! We can stand out from the patterns of the world, be a beacon of light and provide a safe-haven community like Talk Jesus for people who are lost, confused and curious to come and learn about Jesus and why we're so passionate about Him in the first place. Why Jesus? Why "religion"? Why should I believe in the Bible? Lots of common questions we can answer for them.

There are a few easy ways to do this...

Option #1

The traditional donation. If you feel led to support the ministry you may PayPal donations to [email protected]. Please know you are not obligated to give, only give if you feel led to so with the right motive. Check out this awesome Scripture.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Option #2

A creative idea I believe - you promote a Twitter or Facebook post you make for Talk Jesus! It's an awesome idea and I've been fiddling around with this. The lowest cost is $10 per tweet on Twitter and $5 on Facebook. It can generate a lot of impressions and potential clicks for only $10 per tweet. You don't need marketing skills. It's literally one click button to promote a tweet or FB post right within your mobile app (or desktop website). Will you join me in my efforts to do this? You can use Twitter Ad Manager and Facebook Ad Manager (both available within your account) to get all the features and options you'd like as well. They're both very easy to use.

Option #3

Google AdWords. I use it for business use and it's a great way to reach millions of people using their Display Network and Search Partner Option. More info here: Google AdWords

How Can I Help?

Per advertisement method above, you can post certain things like the below examples

"Join our awesome Christian community, friendly to all. All Jesus, no religious bigotry
www.talkjesus.com"

"Are you wondering about Jesus and who He is? Want to learn more? Come ask at our friendly community at www.talkjesus.com"

Just basic examples off the top of my head as I write this letter to you. You can create some neat graphics which are more effective and impressionable than without pictures. Or, simply use a neat bible graphic you find on Pinterest, Instagram for example and include www.talkjesus.com in the message body.

I am honored to serve everyone here and I want to personally thank all the moderators who volunteer there time daily as well. Please show them gratitude. Running an online Christian community may only be just a website to many, but for me and my moderators it's a ministry, responsibility and a calling to be part of the Great Commission - share the Gospel with all the Earth.

Will you join me in my efforts? You may reply to this email with any questions or suggestions. Thank you once again and I look forward to seeing the community thrive for God's Kingdom and glory.

Yours Truly in Christ,
Chad // Founder of Talk Jesus Forums

I am all for it. I think any donation should be proceeded by a required "statement of faith" / agreement.

I believe what @RJ is referring to is that whoever donates should provide their personal statement of faith.

For me, any donation is a blessing to further advertise the ministry and spread the Gospels.

Can you explain a little more brother @RJ

Sure it is a blessing and things like anonymity is a must.
But, though it is probably a little touchy and definitely out my job description, but I had a bit of a concern.
Just like you can't screen all who come to T.J., but when warranted, some turn around and get expelled from T.J. for good reasons.
I was just wondering how you would do the same to someone who has donated? Maybe there is no issue...just a thought!

If anyone gives, it means they support the ministry and believe in it. That's always a good thing and the kind of support we're looking for TJ

Sure! I pray T.J. prospers and grows!
