I was born a christian but it is for the past 4 to 5 months that I've started to know him really personally and I've started committing myself to the lord. As I was born a christian my parents baptised me as a child and then on I've never had a baptism, but I've accepted the lord into my life and am trying my best to be true to him. Should I take another baptism after I've really started walking with god?
God Bless

While infant baptism may make parents feel they have done something spiritually beneficial for their child, this practice is not mentioned any wheres in the scripture, and it does not recognize the intended purpose of baptism, nor the requirements, nor the method.

A few scriptures that verify this...

Mat 3:5 Then the people of Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region along the Jordan began flocking to him, being baptized by him in the Jordan River while they confessed their sins.

Mar 1:5 People from the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were flocking to him, being baptized by him while they confessed their sins.

Joh 3:23 John was also baptizing in Aenon, near Salim, because there was plenty of water there. People kept coming and were being baptized...

Act 2:38 Peter answered them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.

Act 8:12 But when Philip proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and of the name of Jesus Christ, men and women believed and were baptized.

Act 8:36 As they were going along the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, "Look, there's some water. What keeps me from being baptized?" Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." He replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." So he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.

Act 22:16 What are you waiting for now? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away as you call on his name.'

Gal 3:26 For all of you are God's children through faith in Christ Jesus. Indeed, all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Dear Prem, A Baptism is a oath to GOD & to all those around you proclaiming you are ready to serve & worship GOD with all your heart, soul & mind with all your might.

Since you can not make this disision when you're just an infant, then the baptism means little to nothing and why it's so important to be rebaptized at an age when you can think & speak for yourself.

May your walk with The Almighty GOD & Jesus Christ always be a Blessed One.

Love always your Sister in Christ Jesus, *genesis

You have gotten some good advice here SC! Baptism is symbolic of our death with Christ, our burial with Him and our ressurection with Him. I believe it is proper for you to be baptized of your own accord and it certainly won't hurt a thing to do it more than once. Personally I beleive this is bother you because the Holy Spirit is convicting you to do this and there is great joy in obeying God.:shade:

I was baptized as an infant also, but it didn't really MEAN anything to me. I didn't know it was happening-- too little.
I was re-baptized this spring to proclaim my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord, and that I am willing to give my life over to serve Him. It was a public proclamation of my faith in front of my very large church. It meant a LOT to me and was my own decision. I felt it was a big deal and very important. I also believe that this is the water baptism that is in the Bible. The infant baptism isn't in the Bible like a previous poster mentioned.

guys thank you for the wonderful replies, I understand the importance of baptism. Rite now I've moved from the place I was living previously so am going to a new church and new people. Its a catholic church, but i don't believe in the catholic faith. So am wondering how do I get baptised? Please show some light into this topic and help me
God Bless
Prem
