When I watched the film "The dark knight" I saw how batman is a hero, especially in the ending scene. In many ways, his actions make him like Jesus.
Throughout the movie, more and more people begin to dislike batman, because of the jokers trickery. He is already seen as an outlaw, as a mysterious figure. Although underneath he is an amazing person who is putting the distraught and week citizens of Gotham before himself. In a speech, the DA Harvey Dent says "The batman is an outlaw ... We've been happy for him to clean up are streets until now". In Exodus God leads the israelites out of Egypt. He is saving them when they are in trouble because they are his people. However, as soon as they are safe from the Egyptians the soon start disobeying God and worshipping idols. And when they finally get to the promised land they lose track. They don't care about God if they don't need him. It is the same with batman. In one scene as well when the joker is being interrogated he says this "I'll show you; when the chips are down, these 'civilized' people - they'll eat each other". They are week and in need of help, the reason why batman comes in the first place. Earlier in the film he says "I'm not the hero gotham needs - I'm the one it deserves". After Dents fall he effectively takes his place as Gothams needing hero. Like us. We need Jesus, but we don't deserve him.
After Dent becomes Two Face, he loses his mind. He is tricked by the joker, like we are tricked by the Devil. When he dies, Batman and Commisioner Gordon remark that Gotham has now lost hope. Their role model has done terrible things, showing that if the best person in Gotham is not stable, no one is, and everyone can be taken by evil. Batman then does something incredible. He takes the blame for dents crimes, just as Jesus took the punishment for our sins. "They'll hunt me. Condemn me. Set the dogs on me." He is seen as someone as bad as the joker, but he still watches over the city that despises him.
In the final film of the trilogy, the dark knight rises, batman is brought back to the light and he is seen as he really is, just as Jesus resurects. However, he then supposedly sacrifices himself for Gotham again, by flying away with an atomic bomb. Although he is so much better than them and worth so much more than them and yet he takes away there punishment. Like Jesus. They are both amazing symbols and people. "A silent Guardian, A watchful protector, The dark knight".
