(The charts that are mentioned in this writing are available at the link above. Please cut and paste. It's a 3min youtube video.)

The story of the Bible flows consecutively from Genesis through 2 Kings.

After reading Genesis through 2 Kings, one should begin reading the books of the prophets, which are all the books from Isaiah to Malachi.

Reading the prophetic books following 2 Kings is effective and will increase the Understanding of the reader because the prophecies in the Old Testament were written during the reign of the Old Testament kings.

The order in which the prophets prophesied can be clearly seen mostly by noting the name of the king that reigned in the time of each prophecy. This information is usually located in the first verse of the first chapter of many of the prophetic books in the Bible.

By using this information, I have prepared a chart to help display the coordination between the books of the kings and the books of the prophets.

If you will look at the vertical side of the chart to the left, you will see here the names of prophets Isaiah, Hosea, Amos, Jonah and Micah. The names of the kings are listed horizontally at the top of the chart. The kings are Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Jeroboam. Included with the names of the kings are the books and chapters where the story of their reign can be found. The blue X indicates that the history of the king and prophet aligned with the blue X occurred in the same timeframe. The same formula is used for the second chart.

There are some books that work together and should be read concurrently with a reading regimen to get the clearest picture of Understanding. This chart completes the order of the rest of the Old Testament books that are beyond 2 Kings. They are numbered only for the purpose of being clear about the order intended to be conveyed.

Thank you ever so much for studying with me.
