So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. "Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. Exodus 4:14-15 NKJV
Moses had plenty of excuses when God spoke to him and assigned him the task of leading the Hebrews out of Egyptian captivity: “Who am I” (Exodus 3:11), “Who should I say sent me?” (3:13), “Suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice” (Exodus 4:1), and “I’m not an eloquent speaker” (Exodus 4:10).
The Lord patiently answered each of Moses’ objections, and one would think felt assured that he could do the job. But the reluctant deliverer piqued the Lord’s anger when he said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else” (Exodus 4:13).
When God gives us a special assignment, He won’t become angry when we ask that He replace our doubts with His own special brand of assurance. But God asks that we always be willing, that we have a heart that always answers, “Here I am! Send me!”
Prayer: Lord God, You are most pleased with me when I hear You when You speak and say yes to what You have for me.
