I am a new Christian and I do know that every answer to every question can be found in the Bible... but I don't even know where to begin to look for an anwer to this comment.
"Given your belief that your god controls everything, if all babies that are conceived are meant to survive and anything else is murder, how do you square that with the 25% miscarriage rate that your god chooses? "

This is a good question.
God already knows and has declared everthing. But Just because things are a part of Gods plan does not mean that the actions of men are not still wicked. For example, many times in scripture we see that God uses wicked men against His people who are in sin and then He punishes those wicked men, for what they did to His people.
Abortion is a very specific event that is happening for a very specific purpose in these last days. This information may or may not be helpful to an unbeliever who asks you but it will be to you and your understanding overall.
In Moses day, Pharoh sent out people to kill moses as a babe and he had the midwives kill the babes as they were born to try to stop moses from being born because moses would be a deliverer. This was a work of satan in pharoh to destroy moses before he could accomplish Gods plan.
Exd 1:15 ¶ And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one [was] Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: Exd 1:16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see [them] upon the stools; if it [be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it [be] a daughter, then she shall live.
However Gods purpose and will is always accomplished and the midwives feared God and did not kill the male children and when moses was born they put him in a basket in the river and he was found by pharohs daughter and was raised in pharohs house!
Exd 1:17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. Exd 2:2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he [was a] goodly [child], she hid him three months. Exd 2:3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid [it] in the flags by the river's brink. Exd 2:5 ¶ And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash [herself] at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. Exd 2:6 And when she had opened [it], she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This [is one] of the Hebrews' children.
Ok- So then this happened again in history!
When the time was come for Jesus to be born, satan used herod to send men to kill all the children two and younger in an attempt to kill the deliverer Jesus before God could raise Him up.( these things only happen so perfectly and in perfect type because it is GOD in all control amen)
Mat 2:16 ¶ Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
But God had already made a way for Jesus to escape this flood of men to kill him, just as God made a way for moses to live.
Mat 2:13 ¶ And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
So now we come to these days, why is abortion going on as it is in the whole of the world? Because the bible tells us of another such event, where this same type will happen in the last days and satan will want to kill this man child again.and again God will deliver. However this time, this " manchild" will be not one singular person but a group of people who are all over the world so satan has a busy abortion industry working, trying to kill these people before they can even be born into the world.
Rev 12:1 ¶ And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: Rev 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne. Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.
So we see that satan is only trying to do what he has done twice before but this time he is trying to kill them before they can even be born because both times before God delivered them after their birth. Of course we know that satan cannot get in the way of Gods plan so these people will not be aborted no matter the trying and will escape.
