Hi, I am Deaf Christian for all of my life. I have question about Deaf ministry with your own opinion. since I have seen Deaf ministry having a problem with hearing Church, who is closed minded or rejected to Deaf Christians. Deaf Christians are having a hard time to connect with hearing people, who don't understand the Deaf Culture. so far, They were pushing us back to the walls and saying They don't have time to find interpreter or refused to hire a Deaf Pastor to preaching Deaf people.

Psalms 38:13, But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb deaf that opens not his mouth.
in my opinion, many hearing people don't want listen to us that what Deaf people needs or wanted to having own Deaf ministry to running on our own way. Sometimes, Pastor tells us to shut up.. in another way, that hurts us.

another verse, Leviticus 19:14, You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am The Lord.
I have seen some Deacons to mocking on us about our beautiful American Sign Language and sometimes, The chairman of the board, hurts Deaf peoples' feelings about looking us down.

Sometimes, Deacons will use us as the mice for their examples to twisting on our arms for little bit over things that They don't like to see. For the example, I was kneeing on the floor and my arms to reaching to the air, then starting sign language. One of Deacons saw me and put my arms down without my sign language in my prayer, then He told me that no more sign language in my prayer in front of the people. I made the Deacons look foolish on them.

I wonder what kind of role models do they run the church without getting hurt on us? too many Churches to closed the doors to the Deaf Ministries, but never show us How to be Love to another.

Unfortunately, too many people fail to recognize what God's purpose is... what the message that Jesus brought is. People, all people, are selfish, but they need to become really selfless rendering to the other guy what they themselves would like to receive. This is a simple application of the golden rule:

"Do onto others and you would have them do onto to you".

Or as the scripture states it in one place: "

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Luke 6:31

Unfortunately as the old nursery rhyme has it:

"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride"

God always has time as Jesus always had time for those who were hungry and thirsty for God's righteousness. Men do fall short. I certainly do not exclude myself from this, but we all have to start where we are and grow as Jesus grew. How else are we ever to be like Him?

Psalms 38:13, But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb deaf that opens not his mouth.

I will not advise you to find a better place for that is certainly not my calling here. Rather I will advise that to seek God yourself and do as He directs you. Forgive the man who 'bad mouths' you without cause.

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matt 6:14-15

another verse, Leviticus 19:14, You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am The Lord.

People do the same thing at times to those who do not speak their own language. This is all too common in the United States in particular where even Christians presume a superior attitude with regard to non-English speakers. The language that should matter is God's language. Jesus always spoke it and many people did not understand Him at all. He called it "parables" and Paul called it "tongues". Jesus was always available to interpret for those who were truly hungry for God even as God always supplies an interpreter when a message from Him is given.

You my friend speak in a natural "tongue" (American sign language) which is "unknown" to many people and they discount you for it as they sometimes discount me because I speak in an "unknown" tongue in prayer. Not having had the need, I have never learned your language (American sign language), but I did obtain a working knowledge in two foreign human languages and used them both for many years. I understand the need. I also have been given as I already said a gift of an "unknown" tongue from God. The two foreign languages have served a human communication need. The unknown tongue has help build a link between me and God. Your link with God need not be weaker than mine or anyone else's because of people's lack of knowledge and understanding. Don't let those things stand between you and God. He does hear you speak to Him.

People really cannot control our connection with God if the connection is real. Unfortunately, as you have seen, they do try.

I wonder what kind of role models do they run the church without getting hurt on us? too many Churches to closed the doors to the Deaf Ministries, but never show us How to be Love to another.

Amen my brother! "And now abideth faith, hope, charity [love], these three; but the greatest of these is charity [love]." I Cor 13:13
