Well.
There is no solid medical evidence that suggest acupuncture works. The best medical evidence that is not even proven yet is that acupuncture release in the brain natural opiates, that block pain. This is possible, because the skin is lightly pricked causing the brain to release this chemical in the blood stream.
When doing test for a placebo effect there was no conclusive evidence that patients that had real acupuncture and those that thought a real needle was used were any different.
Just like anything else though, Patients that fully believed that acupuncture worked always reported improvement. While those that had not formed an opinion had no or little change.
One things is very clear though, acupuncture cures nothing, and a better effect can be achieved through modern medicine.
As for the religious side of it, acupuncture started with Eastern occult beliefs of releasing chi, or something the other. So, it's kinda like going to a psychic. Some claim that Psychic's have helped them, but just like acupuncture there is no medical evidence that anything that has occult origins, controlled by demonic power can help anyone.
Your mother though should be respected, and don't argue with her with the Word of God. If she wants to go through with this, then support her. You, then can go to God on her behalf and ask your father in heaven to forgive her for being superstitious and silly. Tell the devil in Jesus Name he has no place with your mother, and ask God to open her eyes to the truth. Your mother will be fine, and believe that she will see the light.
God said by his stripes we are healed. Jesus took care of healing on the cross for those that will receive it, That's good enough for me.

hiya
im basically checking if this works, cuz i just duno how to send in these threads. But acupuncture is not from God...
rather stick to " We are healed by His stripes"!!!

Personal ecperience of accupunture
hi,
i went to a place in Belfast, It was for people who were and or still were using substances but aiming to come off them. eg. alcohcol, weed , heoine, percribed drugs.
I went every day mon-firday, for treatment. I had 6 needles put in each ear, and because there were several people there with needles in, the therapist put a tape on, which was a chinese tape. I said i didnt like that tape, because of my faith as a christian, so then she put on a relaxation tape, when the man said let your mind go anywhere !!!!
She would also read visualtion book to us, where we were encouraged to out into the forest, beach etc.
As a christian i knew this was wrong, but at the same time the treatment was helping me, I was much less stressed and after the needles were taken out i felt like i was on a high!!
So did the others who had the needles.
Whenever i had the treatment i always prayed to God and would never do the relaxation tapes, or chinese tapes or visualtion. I prayed to God instead. I asked him if this wasnt from Him to take me away from it . Even though the treatment helped me greatly. my main thought was i didnt want to step out of God's will. And over time i lost interest in going there........so i believe whatever those needles do....it is not from God. Now i get my peace from God, and woulndt advise anybody not to go there. Jesus said,,Don't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in Me. I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isnt like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid. John 14 1,27
