Addiction

I have never confessed this to anyone, let alone posted a message on a public forum, but i feel i need to let this out. I have no one else to talk to.

I am addicted to pornography. I have resisted the urge to indulge for over a month but last night I sinned yet again.

I feel so disgusted and angry with myself because I'm a child of God and this is not what i want. I can't speak to my family or friends because they wouldn't understand what i'm going thru.

My request is that whoever reads this keeps me in prayer. I can't go on like this.

You're in my prayers, sister. I've found out that sexual sins are the hardest for the younger people. I would like to share some verses with you.

1 John 2:15-16
15 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." KJV

We are children and of God and we need to be looked as different from the world. The lust of the world is not of God.

Matthew 5:28
"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." KJV

When we look at porn and think sexual things, it's like having sex already in our heart. This is why we need to flee from porn. We need to stay away from all things that will hurt us in our spiritual life.

My advice would be to practice on getting closer to God. When you have the urges to look at porn or do anything sexual, here are some things you can do to make the devil flee.

1. Study the Bible, especially verses on lust.

2. Pray, submit to the Lord and the devil will flee.

James 4:7
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." KJV

3. Stay around people as much as possible, you'll be less likely to look at porn then.

4. Keep busy. Always be doing something.

5. Don't put yourself in situations where you know lustful thoughts or actions will follow.

There are probably many more things to help, but this is what helps me. I hope something I posted will help you and remember our body is not ours, it's the Lord's. We are to do all things for the Lord.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20
18 "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." KJV

I will keep you in prayer also sister. I agree with brother Cody, its harder for teens as they mature physically, yet still surrounded by kids/young teens that are likely not godly

Most of us do stumble from time to time, so please do not be too hard on yourself. God knows our struggles and He knows our hearts, but you know what, God still loves us and will be there for us to help us in overcoming all these, lustful desires. Call upon Jesus' name in prayer to help you with this and he will. Ask Jesus to pray for you too and he will.

Sometimes, when I am struggling with things, which I am trying to overcome, like sinful ways and worldly things, and I don't know what to pray for, I just ask Jesus to pray for me, and Jesus never lets me down. Jesus is our High Priest, so call upon him.

Lust is a hard one to overcome, which I think we all can be subject too. But just like Jesus was tempted for a season, us too will also be tempted for a season, but when you feel tempted, ask God to take that thought away, and start to repeat this scripture over and over:

Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

You need to fight back with the "sword of the Spirit" (The Word), this is how Jesus taught us, and how he dealt with his temptation in the wilderness and this is what we need to do too.

Also keep little scriptures handy and close to you, on a card of a small bit of paper or something similar and try to memorize some of them, and when you feel tempted, repeat those scriptures. Start listening to Christian music too or get your Bible out and read some Palms, this also helps.

I know it's hard, but what's inside you, is far greater, than what's in this world, remember that and believe it.

Stay close to God and our Lord Jesus Christ, and spend more time in His presence, prayer and read your Bible, meditating on scriptures.

1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We are creatures of habit
satan knows it. if he can get to to just try some things? And of course we have natural desires? he can use these natural desires to take advaage of of us and hurt and maybe destroy us? and not only us, but our loved ones. sin affects many in our lives. and can start with just one. the leader or future leader of a home.

Of course, we must decide it is evil and we will not be bought into bondage to anything in this life!

We must SAY to our selves , this is enough , it has controlled me to long and hurt me and hurt those around me and hurt those who i could have been a blessing to all this time.

Until we see how it has hurt us and hurt our LORD jESUS CHRIST!

Because , sin hurts our LORD and we never want to hurt HIM!

Sin destroys Everything it touches... it brings the greatest down to nothing!
So many are touched by our sins?
It never just destroys one person , but reaches out to others in our lives!
Whole family s are affected by the sins of just one person?

it can start off so innocent, just a trying some evil once, nothing will control me,
satan uses these thoughts to gain a hold on us.
he understands we think we are more in control than we might be???

Now if we can understand, that sin is like hold a gun to out heads and others , then we will not want to sin . we will not want to try it.
we will not want to our our LORD or others.
if we see how it destroys so many around us ?

Because it does.it brings Pain to our whole family!
They suffer greatly over our sins.
the Only answer is to quit it, put ourselves aside!
There is no other answer!

Nothing else will do.

Now i know. We can rebuke those evil thoughts and desires. in the name of JESUS CHRIST and tell that devil to get out and take your evil thoughts with you in the name of JESUS CHRIST. and just start praising our LORD JESUS CHRIST!

And they leave for a time and after a time? they go bother someone else!
GOD has already declared? WE are MORE THAN CONQUERORS, True over comers.
It is done! But we must believe and live it as if we know it is true100%.
BLESS you may the LORD give you full understanding and use you in a mighty way to help others hurting and suffering in this way!inn the mighty name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!
