pretty much every big company lies in some way or the other during their advertising campaigns, and this, for sure, is SIN. question being, if we are to use their products/services, are we partaking as well?

Yes, as the born again believer is never to sustain a lie.

Good question TouchTestimony, I would like to add to this big topic.

In our earlier years we boycotted certain products or companies based entirely on ethics. As the years have moved on we still to a degree decide where to buy from based on ethics. We have our set places where we buy from now so it is no problem for us now, but I think we are all trying to be manipulated by some companies that lack ethics that through emotional advertising entice us to buy their products. In the end if I need that product, what then. The system now makes us that more reliant on products we need. I am so reliant on the companies for everything I need. I have to be a realist and admit some of these companies may not be ethical in their approach to selling products to me yet I need their products too.

I am wary to use the word sin when buying from these companies as I view it all as business and business only. Over the years we have not thought of sin when dealing with any product we have bought. We choose wisely.

God Bless.

It would be almost impossible to avoid all products that aren't truthfully advertised.

No it's not a sin to buy a ute that Holden suggests can bring rain.

Acts 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and
from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

The apostle's original instruction for Gentile converts were not as simple as they might seem. Most meat at the markets were slaughtered in a sacrifice to some Deity. In their society it would be a waste of an animals life force to simply kill it for meat and the commercial system was set up so religion got it's piece of the pie(money).
The issue is clarified in 1 Corinthians:
1 Corinthians 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
1 Corinthians 8:7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
If you feel it's wrong don't do it.If you believe all things belong to God then it is clean.

10:27: If any of them that believe not bid you
to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
Most companies that want to survive want to at least appear honest.

Just keep a clean conscience.
