Advice about a friend

Hi there,

I have a friend that I have been talking to on a regular basis about Jesus for around 12 months now. He asks a lot of questions and has attended an Alpha course - although he missed 2 nights there. I am looking for some suggestions on how others have dealt with the barriers I am encountering with him.

Some background on him -

His sister died when he was a child and he continued to see her ghost for about 16 years. Until very recently he was operating as a spiritual healer - using spirit guides that he can see. He sees spirits regularly and can see inside people to discern whether they are good or bad people. At the Alpha weekend when groups prayed for the Holy Spirit he saw the Spirit arrive and saw people filling with light. He says he believes in God - but not everything in the bible - just parts of it. He has dreams that he considers to be prophetic.

Theres a lot more - but I'm sure you all get the picture. The good news is that he is seeking to know about "Christianity" but I sense that he is trying to make it fit his beliefs and avoiding the conflict with them.

As I said above - we have been talking for a while now and I feel like I'm making no progress.

HELP!

I think the bad news is he is seeking to know about "christianity" and not seeking to know Jesus Christ. The world is full of people who know about christianity, even profess to be followers of christianity, but not many will come to Jesus so that He might save them from thier sins. Neither a creed, a spiritual gift, nor enlightenment, will count for anything when an unrighteous sinful man stands before a Holy God. Unless a man sees he is a sinner in need of a Saviour, and comes to God in repentance, he is as blind as any lost man, tho in the natural he sees marvelous things.

Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Luk 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees [spiritual people] come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

With this kind of person it is going to take much more than talk and friendship. He is in the grips of the occult. It is going to take prayer. And not only that it will take serious prayer. And not only that but you will probably begin to experience attacks from the enemy as you seriously approach God for this friend. So plead the blood of Jesus and approach God for this friend. The Lord himself is His HOPE.

Thanks - I will continue to pray for my friend and trust that the Lord is in control.
