hi guys!
I'm a co-leader of a Skype Bible study group and I'd appreciate some advice, if anyone has any. I feel like the 1.5 hrs that my group spends together isn't structured enough. We spend around 30 mins just catching up (there are 6 of us) before getting into the msgs from our various churches that weekend. Then we sort of just end up with a topic and go with that.
One or two of us usually has a verse of scripture to offer but the conversation just feels so *scattered* and while I enjoy leading activities, I'm finding it challenging to reign everyone in and stay on one topic... if that's what I should be doing. Is it ok for us to go from topic to topic, or should I clear my throat and direct the conversation every now and then? I feel like it might seem pushy. A few times I've "led" the discussion and it went great, and a few times it went not so great. It feels like by the time our conversation really becomes focused, it's time to take prayer requests and wrap up.
I feel that I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what.. if anyone has any experience leading Bible study, esp online, I'd really appreciate it.
God bless!
