For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good [thing] will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, Blessed [is] the man who trusts in You! Psalm 84:11-12 NKJV
The writer of Psalm 84 was a man who understood what he needed to do to put himself in position to receive the best God so freely offers. He understood that God was his source of provision and protection, but he also understood that God’s promises of blessing are contingent on one simple thing: walking as God wanted him to walk and trusting Him for everything.
That all sounds so simple, doesn’t it? And yet it’s so easy for you to turn to other sources for protection and security. But only God can give you everything you need to live the abundant life Jesus promised those who follow Him.
A man who consistently follows God and lives as He wants him to live is a blessed man, a man who will receive God’s very best. There may be no greater promise in the Bible than that!
Prayer: Lord, it’s sometimes difficult for me to fully grasp the fact that you want to bless me with all I need to serve You and live a life that glorifies You. Remind me daily to cling tightly to You so that I can be in position to receive all You have for me.
