"In a little village in Scotland the parishioners believed that if someone lay a perfect offering on the altar, the church bells would start tolling spontaneously. For centuries it had never happened, but they kept on believing that it would eventually come to pass.
A few kilometres outside the village lived a poor widow with her young son in a shabby little house. One morning in winter the mother could not go to church. The little boy braved the cold and snow on his own and attended the service. His mother had given him a sandwich and an apple to eat on the way, as well as a coin to put into the collection.
On his way to the village, the boy rested for a while. In front of him in the snow, birds were scratching fruitlessly to find something to feed their little ones with. He felt deeply sorry for them and began crumbling his sandwich to feed them
With joy in his heart he continued on his journey. A little farther he encountered one of his school friends. His parents were very poor and his clothes were threadbare and torn. He, too was looking for something to eat. The little boy felt desperately sorry for him and gave him his apple.
He hadn’t gone far when he came upon a drunk man who was begging money to buy some food. Overwhelmed with compassion for the outcast, he gave the man his coin.
That was all he had. With nothing as an offering, the little boy sat in church and watched as person after person walked forward to put their offerings on the table.
He had nothing... only himself. Hesitantly he walked down the aisle and knelt at the altar, offering himself to God...
And then the bells started tolling spontaneously!!!!"

Amen. I like they way that kid thought, offering him self.
But that's how our offering should always be, not giving from our own but giving from what we have been given to, even our lifes. Which is in Christ.
Thank you Jesus!
