I can sure AMEN that sister rag4aCrown!! (proverbs 3:3-7!!!!!) After one year in Christ Jesus,no one could tell me anything!! LOL I walked around talking, and acting like a little god. And even had scripture to prove I was one to!! LOL( rom 4:17-18)"so shall your descendants!! OOPS! And one day here is what happened to me because of my stupidity! This may be a bit long, so grab a chair,and have some popcorn and a cold drink next to you. LOL On very nice early summer day,I was leaving my apartment to go play some tennis with a brother in the Lord,when as i left,I saw a lady sitting by her door of her apartment crying,I thought it was that she had locked herself out,so I went over to look to help her.The place Williamsburg Kentucky, I was attending Cumberland College at the time. Now at that time Williamsburg was a dry county,meaning no liquor could be bought,or sold,or even could one have a beer if they wanted it there. Not outside there home anyway.
Her husband was a bootlegger( a man who sells strong drink on the side to make money) with two small children,who at the time were not with there mom,but were staying with there Ma Maw and Pa paw,or grandma and grandma to us.hehe So I asked the young lady if I could help? She said her husband fell down a long flight of stairs and was in the hospital dieing from his fall,and what am I going to do now she said? Thinking I myself could pray for anything and get it,I told her not to worry! I told her Jesus was going to heal that husband of yours right up,and he would become a living testimony to the whole County, that Jesus is Lord of both the living, and the dead!
She invited me in,I shared Jesus and his Word to her,i shared my own testimony of what Jesus did for me,you could see hope returning to her eyes! I was so very proud of myself brothers and sisters!( key word proud of myself!) I left her,and said our church will be praying for him,and only to believe in Jesus!( me being Jesus!) Oh brothers and sister i had all kinds of twisted scripture I presented to her! I got to the Church and told them the situation,and of course we all prayed.The very next day,the lady met me on the street to tell me,some lady came into the room where is was,and laid hands on him,and he began to shake and shiver about.( a confirmation!!!) Or so i believe it was! Again we went back to her place,and I shared more scripture.The third day! I was already thinking in my mind, remember Jesus rose on the third day,so I suspect her husband will to!
As I left my apartment, jumping and skipping and praising the Lord,I saw the lady now with a child by her left side and her right side,so I went over to her and said,Good afternoon sister!! I just am so happy the Lord is working so wonderful for your husband!! While large tears she looked up at me,her two children who heads were down also looked up at me,Mom said, "he is dead,thanks to your Jesus!!" i never want to see you again,or ever here of this Jesus you preach! I can only describe myself to you in this way.It was like someone had pulled all of my insides out and left them in front of me to look at! I did not know what to say!
I told her how very sorry I was, and left to go back to my apartment opened the door, and slide about ten feet on my knees to the bed and started crying,I mean crying! What have I done!!!! LORD!!! How could you make me look like such a fool!! Tears then turned to great anger! I believed Lord!!! I quoted many scripture to the Lord as if he did not know them!! You have lied to me Lord! i will never read or preach your word ever again!!! I took my Bible and threw it in the trashcan! That was it! No more praying,no more reading,i am going back to how I was for good now! And so i did brothers and sister,I got a job as a body Guard in Las Vegas and for 8 long terrible,hurtful years lived once again my own life! Upon about the middle of my 8th year as i was driving home,I living in a place called pampous place about 20 miles outside of Vegas,so i had to drive about ten miles in a desert, or should I say around a desert to get home.
My car stopped dead! Oh great! Now what am I suppose to do? I for some reason had a Bible in my car,and i heard a voice saying Isaiah 43:10"You are MY witnnesses I have chosen,in ORDER the you may believe ME!!!! And understand that I AM HE!!! before ME!!!!! there was no God formed!!! AND!!!! there will be none AFTER ME!!!!!!!( the large words are not shouting but rather to get a point across to ME!!!! LOL Did you ever even consider ME mark? NO!! You only considered how you would be raised up by another! Scriptures I had never seen before were coming fast and furious by the Holy Spirit in my mind now!( john 3:30-31!!) and ( matt 6:9-10!!!) YOUR WILL!! YOUR KINGDOM COME!!
The truth and grace and hope come from ME!!! NOT YOU!!! EGG HEAD! he called me an egghead!!! ME!!! LOL Inside the egg there is a yoke,inside a man there is nothing without ME!( hebrews 6:17-20!!! The yoke is the anchor,you spilled in front of you that day my son.( verse 19) You gave up on hope,even as Peter did when he denied me 3 times. I fully expect you as my son to repent of your own pride and stupidity,and do what I called you to do in the first place! Be trained by ME!!( 1 john 2:27) and not some man claiming to represent me!( psalm 118:8)
You see brothers and sister i came out of the Word of faith movement on this very day! Long story short! Like the prodigal son( luke 15:11-32) I came back to the Lord,but this time much more loyal,and much greater established, because i choose now to trust in HIM, and never me playing him! And by the way after this conversation, my car started again!! LOL So sister rag4a Crown i thank you so much for allowing me to share a great weakness i had, to give hope to those who perhaps have made the same mistake as I did! ( 2 cor 13:2-10!!!!) and 2 cor 10:3-18!! and finally 1 Peter 4:12-13 which says"BELOVED!!! (That is us!) do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you,which comes upon you for your testing,( 2 cor 13:5) as though some strange thing were happening to you,but to the degree that you share the suffering of Christ,keep on rejoicing,so that also at the REVELATION of HIS glory you may rejoice with exultation. 1 peter 5:8-11!!!!
