Angels and Worship

I was always puzzled about why Angels worship God, especially as a new believer,that was until God gave me an interesting definition of worship that i would love to share with everyone:-

" worship is the adoration of the characteristics and qualities of a moral being ( a being that is conscious of right and wrong).It makes the being aware of those qualities and even encourages the being to continue in them."

I have always known that God is not suffering some superiority-complex psychosis, or having programmed angels to worship Him by force like robots.Its not in the character of a God who allows people like paul pot or Hitler to even exist on earth.

I noticed that God is silent on the throne in revelation as He is worshipped.No remarks of approval or chest-thumping, if you ask me...

It seems that Angels did not worship God in the beginning.They were just spectators of God and of His creation until some time after lucifer's fall, then the worship began.

So, as witnesses to God's character, they must worship Him out of the awareness that if God was to change in His intergrity even for just a second, it could have massive repurcusssions for the universe.

Angels and Demons must stand in amazement at our lack of reverence for God!

So ask yourself today, why do Angels worship?

Because they are Finite Creatures just like us. We are told to worship God because he is our Savior, Creator, etc. List goes on. The same goes for angels. They are finite creatures and God deserves their worship. Some angels don't give it though. (demons

Well,to answer your question,true worship entails knowledge.Children can praise,but for them to truly worship,it requires a form of knowledge to do so.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." john 4:24

In other words,they do not give fake praise to God.Their praise is founded on what they have seen and experienced.

"And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come." Rev 4:8

The cherubim are intelligent beings,not robots.True worship to God is not programmed,but expressed.Their expression of worship is real because they are a witness to it.

So,how could the angels worship God in the beginning without knowledge? Our human fathers did not worship God in the garden.They communed with Him.Notice,only later on did people begin to "call on the name of the Lord."

"And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD." Gen 4:26.

hmmmm...

Angels are not human. Yes, they have a choice just like us, but they see God and are in His presence all day, every day. How could they NOT worship God?

Satan is another story. He was the worship leader in Heaven and he wanted the worship for himself. He chose to be prideful and want to be God and so God kicked him out of Heaven.

To suggest that angels didn't worship God before the 'beginning' or at the 'beginning', is walking on shaky ground. The reason angels worship God isn't just because they adore him, but because they know who he is and know he deserves the worship.

Again, I really doubt that the angels were just standing around watching God during creation. They were more likely to be worshipping and dancing and singing. Because if it is happening now, why would it not have happened in the beginning?

If readers are only taking an argument from this thread, I would like to share what I got.

Why Angels worship ?

Because he is awesome, and they stood witnesses to all his wonders.

How do they worship him ?
Non stop, pure praise, worshiping in spirit and in truth.

You ask why do Angels worship?

I thought about it, but I was left asking why do I worship ?

Because I love God, he's Alpha and Omega...he's awesome.

How do I worship him ?
Through dancing and singing in church and around the house.

That's just rude, but then I ask myself

What destroys my worship ?

When I start thinking of wordly matters, I get depress
When I start thinking of my problems , I get depress and worried
When I hold anger in my heart towards my brothers and sisters
When things don't go my way, and I question God
When I don't get what I want and I lack faith
When I try to build up treasures on this earth, no time for God.

How do I fix my worship ?

God is spirit and the only way for me to worship him is in spirit and in truth. A true worshipper will keep their eyes on God despite the confusion around them. Those Angels kept their eyes on God when Satan rebelled.

Therefore I can not worship God in the flesh, I need to stop feeding my flesh with worldy matters, and building up treasures on this earth. I need to feed my spirit with his word, keep my focus on what God awesome wonder, so I can worship him in spirit and in truth.

You ask me to question why Angels worship ?

But I think you were asking me why I worship. Next time I see my worship lacking I will ask “ why angels worship ‘’

I have to ask if it really matters whether Angels Worshiped or praised God at the beginning

I want to see those creatures in God's Throne room.. Now that sounds really cool.

One reason i love this forum is that i get to throw out there questions that have bothered me for years

I really appreciate ALL responses i get to my threads,even the negative ones.

You see,it is easy to fall for erroneous teaching and i believe we should be willing to have an answer as to why we believe.That is why i sometimes ask what i ask in hope someone will shed some light.
