Hello, my brothers and sisters in Christ. I have an issue with anger. I get mad when people open their mouth to talk to me in a calm way. How do I fight the urge to lash out at them? I'm making this a New Years resolution. Help!!!!!

Greetings,
how often the hard parts are the very blessings we pray for and seek!
When we ask for the Lord to do His will in us and we desire to be better people (or is that better, more Christ-like or perfected - as in, to be rid of the ugly flesh ways?) we ought not get surprised if we then encounter things (or people) that appear to annoy us. Instead, we need to thank the Lord for His grace toward us in giving us the very things we need to be able to put into action the desire of our heart (toward both God and man).

So, when these things irritate you, remember to give thanks and use the moment to glorify the Lord and re-act for Him, in Love

I presently have been finding this to be such a constant lesson and must also put this into action!

Bless you ...><>

Walk in the light as He is in the light
1 John 1:7

Greetings @Dana Covert82

Ask the Lord to guard your tongue and to seal your lips apart from to speak words that glorify Him
Trust that He will

The words of this simple old hymn may be of help:

Be not swift to take offence,
Let it pass!
Anger is a foe to sense,
Let it pass!
Brood not darkly o'er a wrong,
Which will disappear ore long;
Rather sing this cheery song,
Let it pass!

Echo not an angry word,
Let it pass!
Think how often you have erred,
Let it pass!
Since our joys must pass away.
Like the dewdrops on the spray,
Wherefore should our sorrow stay'?
Let it pass!

If for good you suffer ill.
Let it pass!
O, be kind and gentle still,
Let it pass!
Time at last makes all things straight:
Let us not resent, but wait,
And our triumph shall be great:
Let it pass!

Answer this to yourself dear sister,

Why are you mad at it anyway? You can tell the Lord about it in prayer. Mind you, God can change our hearts, and can purify our thoughs.

Last week of November last year, I have an unpleasant circumstance with my eldest brother. I am so tempted to real get angry at him in my heart though I didn‘t talk back. But knowing that my anger would eat me up and would build a wall between our relationship as siblings, I call out to God in prayer speaking love, grace, and mercy, forgiveness

Aww sent unfinished :D.
Continuation...

I call out to God in prayer speaking love, grace, and mercy, asking and giving forgiveness, resisting the thoughts of anger in Jesus name, and by quoting Scriptures. God is faithful, He delivered me that time and paved also a way to communicate to my brother before flying back to my work destination again.. Ahh i bought some medines for his cough and handed it personally to him which he accepted the peace offering - hehe

Praying dear sister that you will be able to conquer your new year resolution in the name of Jesus and by the power of His Word, that is if you have a personal meditation and study.

Prayer works and God‘s Word is powerful and active. God bless you.

In Christ Jesus,
