Worshippers Prepare For Church Defection [Excerpts]

Hundreds of disillusioned Anglicans could defect to the Roman Catholic Church in time for Lent.

The split among Church of England worshippers follows a campaign by former bishop Father Keith Newton.

He has appealed for people to leave the church over its stance on the ordination of women and gay clergy.

Instead, defectors are being encouraged to join the Ordinariate, a special branch of Catholicism established by the Pope to welcome former Protestants.

The efforts of the Archbishop of Canterbury have not been enough to stop Anglicans making the split he had hoped to avoid.

The feared defections began in earnest last month - with three Church of England bishops converting to the Roman Catholic Church.

[TBC: Though these Anglicans can see the clear teaching of The Bible on some moral issues, it is distressing that they cannot or will not recognize the false gospel of Rome that is adamantly opposed to the biblical gospel.]

So they are trading one apostasy for another.

How insane? If you were to leave a Church for going Liberal wouldn't you try to find another Church or Fellowship group that was actually teaching God's truth? We all know the Roman Catholic Church has it's own Apostasy.

If you can't find a decent Church then read your Bible and pray at home.

But put yourself under the Pope you have got to be joking!

EPH 5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

It's in black and white. Easy and straight forward. Jesus is the only head of the Church, not the Pope. And that is just for starters!

I won't go on the RCC has many other apostasies. Good grief!

That is sad. They should be going forward, not backward. Women have been ordained by the church for quite awhile now. It is the gay issue that has really divided the Anglican church. The higherups have got to go along or they lose their jobs. So what better way to still have a job but to go to the Roman Catholics. Maybe they are assured of their jobs there. They have sold themselves out if they go backwards into Catholicism for the sake of food on the table. But mankind is weak when it comes to feeding themselves and/or their families.
I went to the Anglican Church since childhood until the age of 16 and never once did I hear the plain gospel. There was too much pride in the word Anlican. They seemed more an elite club than having an interest in the true gospel. This was just my experience, and I don't attend that denomination anymore. Once I heard the truth, that infant baptism does nothing to bring you into God's family, I could never support Anglicanism. Infant baptism muddies the understanding of true repentence and the good news of the gospel. I was lost until I was 43 and it would have been good if I had even heard the gospel message as a child. There was no life in the church because they missed the part about salvation.
To repeat, they need to move ahead, not backwards to the RCC. Its even more lost than the Anglican church is.
