Another Gospel by David Wilkerson

[mp3]http://downloads2.sermonindex.us/0/SID0228.mp3[/mp3]

Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 11:14

2 Corinthians 11:14
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Description: David Wilkerson gives a strong message with "prophetic urgency." He clearly shows that the "prosperity gospel" teaching that gain is godliness is unscriptural and a lie from hell. Surely this is a word from God to a generation of Christians in America that have swallowed this ear tickling teaching up to their demise.

Thank you Chad.

I've been struggling with some of my favourite tv ministers, so much that I no longer watch TBN.

Yes it is, I hope more people will tune in.

God bless you Chadi.

um....

Greetings Chad.

Lots of bad teaching. Give and God will heal you, release your family from drugs, ect. We were just talking about this in that tithing thread.

Now the hard part. I do believe in the prosperity message, I am what you might call part of that Word of Faith movement or Blab it and grab it bunch.

I do love my Brothers and Sisters on TBN but I can't stand that send us money so God can bless you message. So I don't watch TBN.

Saying all that though, I would rather our pastors and workers of the Gospel have all the jet airplanes and nice cars. People have issue with a pastor being blessed or having an airplane. They don't seem to mind if someone working for Jack Danial's or Playboy has an airplane though.

God is our father, who has more or can do more than him? Satan has stolen everything he can get his hands on. He does not even belong in this physical realm as he is a spirit and not flesh. God never intended for all the wealth to be in the hands of the ungodly.

Those that are against the prosperity message think that those that do like the prosperity message have their minds on MONEY. God will get me rich, rich, rich. The sad thing is that unfortunately that is true in a lot of cases.

Another issue is that people only get part of what God said when he talked about things like (Multiply your seed sown) I have heard people tell me they tried that prosperity stuff and God never made them rich. Well the whole point is not to make you rich, but supply the Gospel and be faithful with what you do have, then more is added.

It's not overnight.........
Bless God, we have sown and believed God for a new Van. We thanked him for it every day. About a year went by and someone out of the blue said God told them to buy a Van for us. Surprise!!! Then someone bought us a second Van a few years latter.

God did say he would multiply you seed sown, give you power to get wealth to establish his Covenant. He gave us all things to richly enjoy, but none of that was just to make you rich, but to be a greater blessing to the Kingdom. There needs to be some reform in this area. God is not opposed to making us rich. Somehow the message got lost for the reason to do so.

God Bless.
Jesus Is Lord.

Greetings Brother Mike,

You speak of 'reform', perhaps? A redefinition and/ or understanding of the prosperity message.... or is it the prosperity doctrine?

Let us look only to the Word to see the truth on this matter, like all other matters pertaining to the Christian.

All this talk of jet planes and new cars and having a multiplication of seed.... my Scripture mentions things like being persecuted, being without... mocked, reviled.... and even gives the prosperity in joy.....

Now, there are other Scriptures that one could loosely quote here, like If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 1Corinthians 6:4 This sort of leaves most experts upset.... they consider their position as a place of authority.... have you heard of 'coming under the authority' of the church?

We see the Word of GOD says differently... and for very good and holy reasons...

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

1Corinthians 12:28-31

Notice the Apostles are mentioned as first.... I seem to recall many mortals proclaiming themselves to be Apostles.... and to be honest, even more proclaiming to be Prophets.... who as we see are set secondarily in the church.....

BUT, let us look at something here... and look really closely...

we are talking about Christians.... I have always understood Christian to mean Christ-like.... as in a follower... a person who has the indwelling of Christ through the Holy Ghost.... and we are told that He set the example to follow....

and, then, we see that the Scriptures mention the things of the Old Testament being as an example for us.....

NOW, let us look at the lifestyle of these people... who set the example for us to follow.... after all, that is why an example is set, correct?

Well, we know the way Jesus lived... the fastest jet He ever went on was a colt... and that a Donkey, not even a horse..... but OK, there were no jets back then.... so apart from Jesus riding a donkey, He really didn't have much spare cash or hotel rooms.... I recall He was born in the car-park of the day because the pub was full....

and we know how He was arrested, despised and smitten.... and flogged and I think He even missed a few meals at times..... and admitedly He didn't have life insurance and someone donated a grave-site for Him... but ultimately, He was crucified....
and this after the bloke who WAS into money, lagged on Him and sold Him cheap..... mmmmmm!

OK.... How about the Apostles? I recall reading somewhere they usually were harassed and beaten... on the move, sometimes in hiding..... and even executed..... Paul made quite a point about how he hungered.... and yes, he did say he knew the best of both worlds... but was trying to get the point across about being CONTENT.... and I think he even mentioned that our riches were Christ Jesus.... but all in all, I don't think they had heard the 'prosperity doctrine'...... good job they learnt contentment, or else they might feel underprivileged in heaven for eternity... whew! Just as well the Lord is on the ball!

(I know I might be sounding a little off here, but please bear with me.... it will pan out.... )

The Prophets..... mmmmmm.... shall we follow them? Let's look and see if they were into the 'blessing' of the modern prosperity advocate....

Revelation 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2Peter 2:1-3

ooops, I meant to say....
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
James 5:10

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Who through faith subdued kingdoms,
wrought righteousness,
obtained promises,

stopped the mouths of lions,
Quenched the violence of fire,

escaped the edge of the sword,
out of weakness were made strong,
waxed valiant in fight,
turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Women received their dead raised to life again:

and others were tortured,
not accepting deliverance;
that they might obtain a better resurrection:

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings,
yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

They were stoned,

they were sawn asunder,

were tempted,

were slain with the sword:

they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins;

being destitute,

afflicted,

tormented;

(Of whom the world was not worthy:)
they wandered in deserts,
and in mountains,
and in dens and caves of the earth.

Hebrews 11:32-38

Did I forget to keep on track here.... where were we? Prosperity.... being 'blessed'..... excuse me if I shake my head in disagreement to the 'prosperity teachers' no matter what flavour they come in....

they INSULT the glory of God in Christ Jesus the Lord.

Please don't anyone preach or teach anymore soft prosperity stuff here.

We can use our understanding or reasoning to accept the strong words of deceit uttered by folks who have forgotten Christ's teaching and replaced them with a pretend gospel... but, who want's to be deceived? Not me!

I will finish with the Words of Him who really does know what the doctrine is..... Jesus Christ the Lord....

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:10-12

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Matthew 23:27-39

Pretty heavy stuff!

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
Luke 11:49

You see, the riches of this world and the so-called blessings of wealthy abundance all passes.... and

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

there just doesn't seem to be much about proserity at all in the Scripture....

Blessings come in this sort of love wrapped package.....

Blessed are ye,
when men shall hate you,
and when they shall separate you from their company,
and shall reproach you,
and cast out your name as evil,
for the Son of man's sake.

Rejoice ye in that day,
and leap for joy:
for, behold, your reward is great in heaven:

for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

But woe unto you that are rich!
for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are full!
for ye shall hunger.
Woe unto you that laugh now!
for ye shall mourn and weep.
Woe unto you,
when all men shall speak well of you!
for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

But I say unto you which hear,

Love your enemies,

do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek
offer also the other;

and him that taketh away thy cloke
forbid not to take thy coat also.

Give to every man that asketh of thee;
and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

Luke 6:22-30

Bless you ....><>

end note:
Here is blessing and prosperity:

God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.
Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias?
how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
Lord, they have killed thy prophets,
and digged down thine altars;
and I am left alone,
and they seek my life.

But what saith the answer of God unto him?
I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,
who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Even so then at this present time also
there is a remnant
according to the election of grace.

Romans 11:2-5

Great Post

Awesome Post BR. Bear.

There are tons of old Testament scriptures about God Blessing you and making you rich.

God has never Changed.

I think Christians get edgy about the prosperity message because the associate it with Greed, lust and all those other wonderful scriptures you gave. Then there is a thought that becoming rich could somehow corrupt us and it's something to be avoided.

Lets start with Jesus. He had the nicest cloths and Judas carried the bag of money. When Judas left to betray our Lord they assumed he might be out giving their money away to the poor. Money was in abundant supply for them and they were very well taken care of. With the power and anointing of Jesus, he could manipulate the atomic structure of material things to produce what was needed. Like wine, or convince a whole ton of fish to jump in Peter's net. Supernatural provision was always abounding. They even wanted to make Jesus a King once and they don't ask poor people to do that.

Jesus became poor so that we can become rich. That's material rich in the Greek not some strange spiritual thing. He laid down everything and came to earth then gave his life and paid a price he did not deserve.

When we give, we are to expect a Harvest. A lot of Christians tell me they just give from a good heart and don't expect God to do anything in return. That's not faith, That's not being diligent.
Whatsoever a man sows he must reap.
God is not mocked, you can't get away from your harvest good or bad.
Thank God the Blood of Jesus can destroy some of the bad harvest that can come to us physically.

Pro 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

God keeps track of our Giving, every penny of it. Jesus said give and it shall be given in good measure back.

Giving is the only thing God challenge us to do to prove or test him. He said go ahead and try it and see what I can do. Mal 3

I see the scriptures that warn us of the lust of other things entering in. (Mark 4) Most people against expecting God to bless then on seed sown always produce all these scriptures. We are told that money makes a lousy god though and to serve the provider and multilayer in heaven, not the money. (Matt 6)

The World's system on wealth is corrupt. God's system is based on it's more Blessed to give than receive. People don't understand how that can be.

I did not want to make this to long. My point about God increases you and making you wealthy is because I want Christians to have more than enough. We are God's children and should not be broke, but sadly a lot of Christians are broke, they can not do much for God.

The system of seed time and harvest was put in place. God's system of wealth is based on faithful with a little then faithful in much. God's system is not a overnight wealth success. God will give you with what he can trust you with. God is looking for those that do not covet money and trust in him to supply their needs, people that will give everything at a moments notices if asked, knowing that God will provide. Sadly, most Christians always think about what bills need to be paid or what they want when given a pay check. Me I set God's tenth aside and ask if more is needed.

In my church people get their houses paid off, cars given to them, ect... We give over 70,000 dollars a week in free professionally done teaching material. My pastor should be making a fortune from those teaching CD's but the Lord told him to do it for FREE.
I am glad my paster has developed that kinda faith. If it were me I think I would have to spend a lot more time praying about loosing all that money and having to pay shipping and the cost of production hoping that all that extra money would somehow come in to cover the expense.

It's all on the level of faith and operation your on. My pastor did not start out rich, he was poor. He just kept giving and God kept showing more and more ways to put Him (God) first.

Soon God told my paster that he was suppose to have an airplane.

Then a jet (23 million) So my pastor Gave away his first airplane. He sowed it and waited on God for the move on the Jet. Bless God the jet finally showed up. Now he can preach and get back and get rested. He can be more places than ever before.

I don't see nothing wrong with the properity message. I think we need to stop thinking broke and get the world riches back from the thief. That money can be spent on equiping our pastors to do a better job with better tools.

If you really pay attention to christians that are against tithing and properity, then you will find a lot of christians that are not putting God first with their money. I have meet a whole bunch of em.

What farmer spends thousands of dollars to sow in to his field and never goes back to check the harverst?

We may not agree on this... but thats Ok.
'
Once again, thank you and God Bless.
Jesus Is Lord.

1Timothy 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
:2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
:13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5

Brother Mike, greetings brother,

have you ever done a tally on the already enormous wealth of what we classify as the church?
Add up all the possessions of every church member , the world over, and add to that the institutions/churches and all their accumulated wealth in buildings and the like.(jets included..... those polluting ozone desroying flying things... just to throw a spanner in the works)

It is a mind boggling amount.

So, why are there so many members of the church so poor?

It is having all things in common..... and the rich tele-evangelist is no more guilty of hoarding than the poorest of poor.

Perhaps we should preach about it all being everyone's.... and there would not only be no more poor church members, but with a little bit of thought, a group with that much capital AND support, could.....

change the world.

I suppose it comes down to what message is being taught and preached via jet planes and plush leather chairs and fine foods... and thousand dollar suits.... and rolex watches... and ......

you see, I have had nothing, besides being born that way, and dying that way, and I have had plenty.....

In Christ everything is at your disposal.......

would it be faithless to expect a seat on a plane when needed... and a room to stay in and a feed when you're hungry?

Have you ever read "The Intercessor" about Rees Howells? Good read brother.

Do we need to own a jet to get from A to B?

Yes, Jesus had it all at His miracle fingers.... and so do we.....

but, and this is O so sad,

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2Timothy 3

Bless you ....><>

Br. Bear

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Romans 11:33-36

note : riches = ploutos
ploo'-tos
wealth (as fulness), that is, (literally) money, possessions, or (figuratively) abundance, richness, (specifically) valuable bestowment: - riches.

Ok then.

ya, my church is pretty Big. Not the largest church by any means, but larger than most. It's a very prosperous church, we just received an new building and are now buying 51 acres of land around that building. 32,000 an acre.

I have seen God do some amazing things getting members wealth. I also noticed they give a lot also. It's common to walk into our church and someone had you 500.00. The first time my mother in law came someone just gave her 100.00.

One time I came with nothing and I asked the Lord for something to give. Someone came up to me and handed me a 20.00 and told me the Lord said that I was to put that in the offering. (Like how he know, duh God told him.)

My Pastor is very good friends with Brother Copeland, Brother Duplantis, Brother savelle, Brother Dollar. ect....
In fact Jesse Duplantis just spoke at our church not to long ago and Brother Copeland comes every year. You would be amazed at all the Trucks full of equipment he brings.

It could be just a different world, as I have gone to churches were the pastor had to beg to give just to keep the lights on.

Wealth on this earth is going away very quickly. Material things are just tools and that's it.

Before I came to my church, I was really in to that blab it and grab it stuff. I have a new car, I have a new car, God is getting me a new car. I felt kinda slapped in the face when my new Pastor talked about putting things in place of the one that created them.

I had lots of learning to do about that faith move mountains stuff and I thought I already knew it.

I also was taught that Money is just a tool, just to be used a short while on earth for the kingdom's sake. If you would have talked to me a few years back, I would have sounded completely different. Just like some of those prosperity preachers.

My pastor also believed in that prosperity message, but he had a nice hot rod he really loved. Every check would first go to see what new part he could buy for that car then he would tithe his tenth. One day he ask the Lord why he is not getting blessed the way he sees people in the bible and what he sees in his word.
The Lord said. "Keith, your not putting me first. I said seek the Kingdom of God (First) then all the other stuff will be added.

Shortly after the Lord called him somewhere else and he had to leave his most valued sports car behind. The Lord did not allow him to get another car, and he had a lot of years without the things he really did enjoy, but those things were coming first in his life.

It really made me think about why God would make us rich. I had it all messed up and it was hard to hear that message as it's not they way I thought it was suppose to be.

I can understand why people are nervous about that prosperity message. Like myself I use to believe that it was about getting stuff. I am God's Child so I should have THINGS!!! Well, earth is not our home, we are not born of this world. We are left here by the Grace of God once we get born again to be a witness to the rest of the world. Not collect stuff that will surly perish away. We are here just a short time compared to our real home.

Jesus is Lord.

Prosperity preaching makes me feel sad and sick. For me it just confirms how far 'Christians' are being sucked in by the standards of the world and worldly priorities. How much time must be spent checking bank balances..prisoners of possessions..to the expense of things that are of eternal significance.

I see no prosperity teaching in scripture..but rather the message that
true wealth and blessing are an abundance of the fruits of the Spirit...being rich in His love.

Wherefore, O Lord God, I esteem it a great mercy, not to have much of that which is outwardly and in the opinion of men seems worthy of glory and applause.

For so it comes, that he who considers the poverty and unworthiness of his own person, is so far from conceiving grief or sadness, or from being cast down, that he takes comfort and is glad; because Thou, O God, hast chosen the poor and humble and the despised of the world for Thyself (I Corinthians 1 27,28), for Thy familiar friends and household.

Witnesses are Thy apostles, and yet they lived in the world without complaint (1 Thes 2:10), so humble and simple, without all malice and deceit, that they rejoiced to suffer reproaches for Thy name (Acts 5:41) Thomas A Kempis

The Lord used people who had little..5 loaves and 2 fishes....simple souls...to proclaim His love. But the rich young man in Mark 10....corrupted by his love of money....and far from the Kingdom

Chose always to have less rather than more (1 Corinthians 10:24)

Send out Thy light and Thy truth Psalm 43:3

Blessings

Super post.

No, sister you are not off track. Loving money, is not a good thing. You can not serve two masters.

The rich young ruler made the greatest mistake of his life. Why, He was sad because he had great wealth. Jesus said give all you have and sell to the poor... YIKES!!!! that is not what he wanted to hear. He asked the question about eternal life and how to get eternal life.

Jesus said how hard it is for those with wealth to enter into the Kingdom of God.

Oops............ Jesus never answered his question about eternal life, but was on a whole different subject. Peter and them were astonished asking how then do we get eternal life. We did sell everything!!!

Jesus being Jesus kept talking not to be side tracked.

Mar 10:27 Jesus glanced around at them and said, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.

Mar 10:28 Peter started to say to Him, Behold, we have yielded up and abandoned everything [once and for all and [v] joined You as Your disciples, siding with Your party] and accompanied You [[w] walking the same road that You walk].

Peter is reminding the Lord that hey, we have just been following you. The problem was that Jesus was not by any means broke and the disciples were not broke. They gave money constantly to the poor of all that was given to them in travel. Judas the thief had the money bag.

Jesus finally gave the answer to Peter in the end.

Mar 10:29 Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel's

Mar 10:30 Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.

This covered Peter's question as Peter was more focused on what the rich young ruler said about getting eternal life. Jesus went on to teach how the Kingdom of God operates and was only trying to bless this rich young ruler. Had the man obeyed the Lord he would have been a lot more wealthier with Lands, houses ect........... and then for giving God his all putting God first eternal life.

No man can even come close to giving a return for things we do for them like God. No bank can give us a 100 times back what we have invested. But with man it's impossible, with God all things are possible.

I agree with you Sister. Its sad that the gospel for wealth bunch have twisted things so bad that it frightens away Gods children from seeing what a great God can do in someones finances, who put him fist in everything.

Jesus Is Lord.

wow that was great chad. one of the best teachings i have heard since the paul washer video.

I've never met a rich person who didn't love being rich.

Matthew 19:23&24
23*Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 24 I say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”

So if the "prosperity gospel" or "word of faith" teaching is correct then God wants to make it hard on us to enter the Kingdom. Carnal, carnal, carnal, oh and did I say carnal?

[QUOTE)David Wilkerson gives a strong message with "prophetic urgency." He clearly shows that the "prosperity gospel" teaching that gain is godliness is unscriptural and a lie from hell. Surely this is a word from God to a generation of Christians in America that have swallowed this ear tickling teaching up to their demise.[/QUOTE]

David Wilkerson has stood the test of time. I would like to think that I have done likewise........MmMm Forgive me
In 1966 I shared the platform with David Wilkerson in Sheffield City Hall a posh place location at that time The book "Cross and the Switchblade" was flooding the Christian bookstalls and he came over to tell the story in person.

We shared a meal together, he was a young preacher/Pastor and so was I

I do enjoy the preaching from his church in Times Square New York, which I watch in relaxed mode, each Sunday eve after my day is done.

Another minister at that fellowship Pastor Conlon has also brought God's word to me, which I needed at the time.

Pastor Wilkerson has stood the test of 'time' In 1966 I shared the platform with him in the Sheffield City Hall, a posh place at the time seating 2000 folks

"Cross and the Switchblade" had recently been written and Pastor Wilkerson was here in the U.K. to tell his story in person.

I watch his t.V. broadcast each Sunday at 9 pm when I have done for the day, and I am looking for a word from Jesus myself........maybe

He has not been caught up in 'modern methods' but preaches the gospel in its intrinsic simplicity.....Which remains the 'gospel' to all who will believe unto Salvation

Our Master had such a sense of humour.......Who would have thought of a camel and a needle? A speck of sawdust, being so apparent, and a two by four plank in the eye.....unseen?

I am sure he had a twinkle in His eye when he said "Don't worry about tomorrow......your Father knows what you need"

I am so pleased about that......."my Father knows".........I depend upon this.....
