Reading from (NKJV) from Thomas Nelson's
1 Peter 3:15-16 (NKJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

Amplified Bible
But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. 16 And see to it that your conscience is entirely clear, so that every time you are slandered or falsely accused, those who attack or disparage your good behavior in Christ will be shamed [by their own words].

New American Standard Bible
but [a]sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a [b]defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect; 16 [c]and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

That day is now around the comer

Hebrews 4:13-14 (NKJV) And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

the phrase Whoever holds his or her pease

Amplified Bible
3 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.

14 Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].

I am working on a study on the ages of time throughout the history of man
Romans 14:12 (NKJV) So then each one of us, shall give an account of himself to God.

What is the Great Tribulation?

Matt 24:21; "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.
Matt 24:22; "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Mark 13:19; "For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.
Mark 13:20; "Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

Interesting both these passages say the elect will still be around for this.

The tribulation is divided into two periods of roughly 3 1/2 years each. ( Some of this comes from Daniel )
But the dividing point between the "non-great" and the "great" tribulation is the appearance of the two witnesses.

Rev 11:3; "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
Rev 11:4; These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

The 1.260 days are the last 3 1/2 years, here.
During this time the seven seals will happen. These are in Revelation chapter 6 thru 8:5. It seems the first 6 seals are during the first 3 1/2 years.
The 7th seal will be after the 1,260 days. The seven trumpet judgments. ( Revelation 8:6 - 9:21 ) are in the middle of this as well.
The two witnesses comes in Revelation 11:3; The 7th trumpet is Revelation 11:15;

After this comes the first and second "beasts". These are in Revelation 13.

Rev 13:5; There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him.
Rev 13:6; And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
Rev 13:7; It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.

Again 42 months is 3 1/2 years. There will be saints on the earth during this time. The beast will make war with them.
The second beast is mentioned in Rev 13:11; This is the one who makes everyone get the mark in order to buy or sell.
Of course once you receive the mark, you are doomed.

Revelation 15 is about the seven plague judgments.
Revelation 16 is about the seven bowl judgments.

These are the events of the "great" tribulation.

Matt 24:15; "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

Jesus references the abomination of desolation in Daniel here. It seems this will happen again, and be the start of the tribulation.

No one knows ( but God ) for sure exactly what the abomination of desolation was.

Dan 11:31; "Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.

Dan 12:9; He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.
Dan 12:10; "Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
Dan 12:11; "From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
Dan 12:12; "How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!

Apparently whatever it was, it took place in the temple, and replaced "the regular sacrifice". This will happen for 1,290 days, slightly longer than 3 1/2 years.
Jewish tradition says Antiochus Epiphanes III (or IV possibly) sacrificed swine (the most unclean animal in Judaism) in the temple under the reign of Babylon.

Mark 13:20; "Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

greeting
thank you
I know these verses you read from, what does it mean personally to the individual, another why?

I know these verses you read from, what does it mean personally to the individual, another why?

Matt 24:29; "But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Matt 24:30; "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
Matt 24:31; "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

I am likely in the minority here. But it says here the elect will be gathered up "after" the tribulation. It says this will happen when Jesus comes back.
Some people believe this is speaking of Jerusalem in 70ad, There are many problems with this. The first two obvious ones are, there was no rapture in 70ad, and Jesus didn't return in 70ad.
Also Matt 24:21; and Mark 13:19; say this will be the worst time on earth there ever was. There have been a lot worse things than Jerusalem falling in 70ad. That was just one city.
There have been world wars where many more people died. The Holocaust of world war II killed more Jews than the entire population of Jerusalem during 70ad.
There is no record of anyone having take a mark to buy or sell. There is no record of Nero ever being in Jerusalem, etc...

So for me personally, it means be ready. Stand firm. It could come any day.

Rev 20:4; Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

there something missing
why would the Lord make one go through the tribulation, what reasons and the mark of Beast are in which book other than the bible
the Beast is a symbol of what nation or nations, the mark is the symbol of past what? but one does not yet? Remember this when one is studying and giving information, history is good, but there is a crucial point to the individual as to why I must go through tribulation why me? And to mush information is overkill, overwhelming to the reader
10 words or less

and it says the son of the morning star, a morning star this star is what?
Stars, allegory mean what?
the symbol

Revelation 22:16
I, Jesus, have sent my angel totestify to you about these things for thechurches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morningstar.”
(This is Jesus)

Isaiah 14:12 — The New International Version (NIV)

12 How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!

Why does God cause some to through tribulation?

Rev 2:10; 'Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

1Pet 1:6; In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
1Pet 1:7; so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

reading from the (NKJV)
Matthew 13:23-33 (NKJV) But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

Matthew 13:24 - 25 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.

Matthew 13:26 -28But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?'
He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?'

Matthew 13:29 - 30 But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn." ' "

Matthew 13:31 - 32 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."

Matthew 13: 33 Another parable He spoke to them: "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened."

The wheat is the Gentiles, and believers will go through the tribulation
why did are they call them wheat? Shifting Of Wheat, the Lord said I will sprinkle the grain of wheat onto the earth

John 12:23-26 But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Greetings,

why?
Are you suggesting another should only use 10 words or less?

I am a bit confused, if that is the case, given the amount of long posts and threads you make.

Please explain

Bless you ....><>

greeting Mr. Br. Bear
good morning
download-36.jpg

yes, please bear with me, for my grammar is in construction
The question was, what is the Great Tribulation?
10 words or less
for an example Yes?
The answer, It is the Seven years of Daniel 9:27

Question where else in the bible is it mentioned

The answer, Matthews 24: 1 through 51

This gives the reader to search for the answer trying to narrow down instead of giving all of the answers; it makes the word more trivial if you know what I mean, By Overwhelming the reader

Bible study is searching, in Second Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 to 17 is to search the scripture

Second Timothy chapter 2 verses 15 to Study that you approve that one may enter the Kingdom of God 10 words or less narrow down the answer,

Overwhelming new believes by giving them the answer, then you take away the meaning of Second Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 to 17, and Second Timothy chapter 2 verses 15

Then my answer would be from Second Timothy chapter 2 verses 15 is to Study, and in Second Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 to 17 to search the scripture, Second Timothy chapter 2 verses 15 to Study that you may approve

The Holy Spirit is the teacher, Matthew says in chapter 18 verses 20, for where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

In Matthew chapter 18 verses 20 in Matthew chapter 18 verses 19, reading from (NKJV) Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

When gathering and praying and asking Matthew chapter 18 verses 19, if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

It is the gathering of believers in a small group this is the Lord’s Supper, but there is a problem. I’ll stop for now, that I may not overwhelm. Just a note, where to give an answer to your question I gave over about two hundred words or less, I try to narrow down your question
