How often do you think about death? Many people try to avoid thinking about dying and the pain they will suffer before death finally comes. We may give some thought about where and how we will die, and for many the fear is extreme enough that anxiety over the thought of dying is really fearful.

Hebrews 2:14,15. 14."Therefore, since the children share in the flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the shame, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15. and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives."

Our days are numbered and God knows our day's even before we were conceived. Just the thought of my day's being ordained is too much for my mind tto grasp.

Psalm 139:15,16. 15."My frame was not hidden fron You, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depts of the earth; 16. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance: And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them." NASN updated

After reading these verses how do you think about anticipating the unavoidable day of your death? Do you have any other verses that have brought peace and comfort and alleviated anxiety? Blessings.

I was electrocuted once. I felt my heart slowing down and I knew I was dying, my thought at that moment- I wish I had done more for my Lord.
But more to the point:
Death is something our bodies will naturally react to with fear (IE the Lord sweating great drops of blood in Gethsemane) but we can still hang on in faith.
There was a time (for about 4 months) when I thought I was dying. It hurt to breathe, yet no Doctor could tell me what was wrong. My body literally wanted to climb out of its skin and run away; All I could do is keep saying "Jesus I trust You", " Jesus I love You", Jesus I trust You" until the day He delivered me
It was there I learned the difference between the violent protests of the flesh and walking by faith anyway. I would not want to go through that again, but I look forward to the day I am promoted to be with my God.
I can truly say with Paul-

Php 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

2Co_5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Spurgeon wrote of a woman who went to be with the Lord and left the following note on her bedside:

Since Jesus is mine, I’ll not fear undressing,
But gladly put off this garment of clay!
To die in the Lord is a Covenant blessing,
Since Jesus to Glory through death led the way

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death
1 Corinthians 15:26

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory
1 Corinthians 15:55

But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:20-21

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection
Romans 6:5

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy Him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage
Romans 2:14-15

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Corinthians 15:54

So shall we ever be with the Lord
1 Thessalonians 4:17

For ever with the Lord......Hallelujah what a wonderful comfort that is to conquer fears
