This is done very often when someone talks about an experience they have had in Christ. Those after hearing will say, "where is that i.n the bible".

I know as some have asked me the very same thing.

This is often said when telling of a spiritual experience.

So what i am asking is, where is our faith. Jesus states repeatedly, "because of your faith". When the men tore off a roof, for there friend, to be healed by Jesus. ... some without faith make light of this saying, oh the roof was just palms, no big deal. But i tell you, as it was written in the Bible, it was a big deal.

God never does anything without a purpose. So if its in the Bible, there is a purpose for it.

Going back to checking the Bible for proof. We Christians have gone astray in our pursuit of faith. We are much more a people of confirmations.

Tell me, what scripture verse did Peter fall back on, to tell him it was "ok" to walk on the water.

When God touches our lives in todays world, it is no different than when Jesus touched ppls lives in the past. God never changes.

What we should be doing then, when someone comes here with an outstanding story. Listen to it, then allow the Holy Spirit to move in us. It is through the Holy Spirit our faith grows.

Remember, Jesus stated, others will come and do even greater works than I.

People are afraid of the Holy Spirit, even most christians. They prefer the written word, so they can by their own might of intelligence and properly (supposedly) dividing the word (as if it SHOULD be DIVIDED!!) to come to the correct conclusion. Sounds way to much like the jews of Jesus time to me.

Christians in general (at least in America) dont have a clue to hard core faith. It is so superficial. Do you feel im coming down on you. Well yes and no. Yes, because i contantly hear. I know God, i have faith, on and on. The fact is, honestly, your faith is very weak. And no. Because God is going to move in some mighty ways in our near future. God cares about you. Especially the weak.

God seems to be back in the tabernacle of old, in today's Christian churches. This point is profound, yet absent to people.

We as humans always like to put God in a box that He himself can get out of. God is sovereign, so he can choose to do what He wants. If this is how we view God, then faith in Him will truly grow and be beautiful. If we only see God in a book, then our faith won't grow pass the last page.

God is alive, and we need to remember that.

In peace

I am an american. Faith has no boundries, and if you were to ask the Lord, He would tell you about my faith, that it is very strong. Be careful of generalizing, you only make yourself look foolish, like now.

I too am American, and im speaking from experience. For years the Lord has lead me to many churches. Having me talking with many ppl. Parishoners and pasters alike. Most messages are encouragement, some prophecy, some teaching, and a few rebuttals.

In all the churches and individuals, many of them love God, and God loves them all.

But when it comes to faith. Straight up. We as a whole are weak. I have heard so many times, God doesnt do that anymore, if i say 'the Lord told me'. Or something else that is simple in faith to grasp.

If ppl struggle in thier faith over simple things. Like God can talk with anyone, or Angels are real, or healing can be instantaneous, or you can drive out a demon with just love.

Then what will happen during the near future when God's Witnesses come, and the greatest challenge you will ever face will be before you. The Mark of the Beast..

You see my friend, the devil has been very shrude. He has the believers all wound up over this rapture business. The only rapture will be at Jesus return.

So all the believers are not being prepared as they aught to. Many will leave Christianity for the one world church. The church of the beast

Very much so brother

I agree with you brother, the devil has most of Christianity confused today. He has them ignoring parts of the Bible that we should most definitely be looking at. God is allowing it though because he wants to see where people stand, if they are going to hunger and thirst after righteousness and seek after God's truth. I believe that the rapture will happen when Jesus comes back as well, and Jesus comes back at the Last Trumpet. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:..."

The devil is deceiving the masses and they have absolutely no idea that it is happening. We as Christians need to open our eyes and really try to listen to what Jesus says, not Paul, not Peter not anyone. We WILL be judged by what Jesus says and so because of that, we need to make sure we are trying our best to really listen and take heed to what he is saying; anything we fall short of, Jesus' sacrificial death will cover for us.

Peace and Blessings

Hey Bill This is a good post. I appreciate it. And as a reward for you posting it. I'll answer your question..."Tell me, what scripture verse did Peter fall back on, to tell him it was "ok" to walk on the water."

Peter consulted the Word and obeyed vs 29. Check it.
Matthew 14:22-33 King James Version (KJV)

22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

So Peter did check the Word...and it was when He looked elsewhere that he got into trouble. LOL I just thought I would put a stick into your spokes. Keep up the good work!!

Lol good. Good challenge!

But in a manner, you have the cart before the horse. The scripture you are using was written after the incident. Peter would have to fall back on Old Testiment knowledge

But he didn't. He trusted the Word! The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...Jesus is the Word.

The Apostles didnt Know he was the Christ, the Messiah, untill the Father reveled it to Peter.

His walking on the water, was not done by his knowing the scripture (meaning Peter) but by faith.

Trust me, you can know all the scripture, and have the Bible memorized, but it still wont compare to your faith. And that is either direction. Great faith, or little faith.

How much knowlegde did the centurian have, a roman. Yet Jesus was astonished by his faith.

If i can say. God is very aware of the plight of His children. And His Servants are working diligently on their behalf.

Dont ever think , never feel that Gods Servants are too out of reach. They are here already, but only a few know.

Remember, Jesus lived and worked on the planet for years, and few knew Him.

And John the Baptist as well, lived for years amoung his ppl, and no one knew he had the spirit of Elijah.

The same with Gods Two Witnesses.

Still, no matter what you have experienced, no matter what you think, you dont know me personally. To trash talk me about being weak on faith is foolishness, sorta like when Elijah thought he was the last one on earth left who loved the Lord. Did you even pray about this and seek God's will on the matter before speaking trash about my faith?

Of course Bill. It was done by faith in the Words of the Word (Jesus) Jesus said "Come" and Peter stepped out in faith. He only began to sink when he trusted his eyes instead of the Word. He believed circumstance before the Word....

I never spoke trash about your faith my friend. And yes i saw how God loves you.

As you feel i have offended you, i am sorry please accept my apology.

No Friend Bill, I have to back up and ask you, Where is it wrong to ask where an experience, doctrine, or teaching is found in the Bible? It seems to me that it would be a safety barrier to a person getting deceived, if you know what I mean. So....how is it wrong?

I never said it was wrong. There are times when an experience you or someone else will have, that is from God. And it wont be found in scripture. There wont be a simple blue print that acknowledges it as being from God. You will have to walk on faith. Trust in Jesus. Alone.

When the time comes for the Mark of the Beast. It wont be so easy to turn it down. Even though you know what scripture says about it. By not taking the mark, you will loose everything. You house, car, credit, no job, cant even buy food. All that gold ppl are hording will have no value. It will be illegal to own gold. Your bank account will be 0

Right now you will say, no. I will never do it. But when the time comes, if you have no Christian support group. IT WILL BE DIFFICULT.

This is where faith is important. Because Jesus always feeds his own. During that time, some who do not have the mark, in total faith, will put their hand under the devise, and be able to buy groceries. They will do it in faith.

The action is not found in scripture. But placing your faith in God is.

Well you're right on there except for one thing....A situation my not be specifically mentioned in the bible, but the principles of the Bible can be applied to any, I mean ANY, situation you can name now or in the future. So, I know we agree here, its vital that we learn the Word, learn to walk in the Word, trusting Him and leaning on Him now, so that we will automatically lean on Him if we end up in that situation.
