I made a post called, "How Is Your Walk With Jesus?" In another room, I thought about it especially after I got kicked from a room simply because of my nic(a title given to me years ago). The gentleman who barred me contacted me with a private message. We talked for about minutes in which time he acknowledged my work in 2 other rooms and reaffirmed to me, the strength of my faith. He knew the actual meanings of the words involved but refused to accept it. Even with having the discussion above, he still continually implied I was evil by nature. He even went as as to post an american based dictionary entry and the first thing that came up for pagan was, from a hut or cottage. Which does still infers a peasant and incensed he went on for the next minutes about the slang.
To this day that ban was never lifted.
He said he had to protect the children in the room. Now, that made no sense to protect them from what? The lies and judgmental attitudes they carry themselves. Even when he proved himself wrong, there was disdain. Personally, I forgave him but I worry about what those young people are learning in fellowship. It's this type of hypocrisy that worries me the most because it creeps into your life maybe unaware its there. Damaging both your spirit and credibility. This is just one story of hypocrisy that is being used to water down or destroy Christianity and there are many more just like this one. That is what I intended with this thread. We, as Christians must start taking a stand and return Christianity back to the Ministry of Christ.
So, now I ask; in a Christian today, where has the arrogant judgmental attitude come from? As true Christians we have but one job for God and that’s witness to His Glory, through 2 fundamental commandments. Jesus as our Saviour even tells us how to do just that, through the Gospels. We all have much in common our whole hearted desire to reach out and touch others, as Jesus reached out and touched the lepers. In a post Rev_I_Am made in his room, he told us that the leper in the Gospels had all faith in Jesus and who he was. He reached out in faith and hope, that the Son of God would reach out and cleanse him. It was spontaneous for both, just like it should be for us. Everyday we must do that as well. We all need to be washed clean, through prayers of repentance, and absolution to start our next day anew, and in turn we must reach out to others with enlightenment of our Father in Heaven and His precious son our Saviour. This post I feel is necessary because of those using the term Christian, in most cases give no consideration as to what is involved or even what it means. It is a difficult walk, personally I know that, do you? As I type this I am pondering what is in store for me. Jesus gave us many warnings of what will come for living in His Word, Mark 13:9 & 10 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the Gospels must first be published among all nations. In the next few weeks I will be challenging several gov’ts on their foreign policies. 2 of which are my own and the U.S., being of good conscience I won’t just sit back and know that those policies don’’t affect me, well they do and these policies should affect everyone of good conscience. Confessing the name of Jesus to our friends and neighbours, Matthew 10:32. Now, if you consider this, it would mean that those who know you must also know you are a Christian and follower of Christ. Also Your life shows what you are, Matthew 12:35. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringth forth evil things. If you are friendly, happy and generous. Others see this and when you’re around they will be too. In fact you hang around with them long enough, these attributes will remain with them. The same is true if you are a liar, deceitful, and selfish. The question is, How do you want people to treat you? Gee! this whole thought sounds like the second great command from God as told by Jesus, Matthew 22:39, And the second is like unto it, Love your neighbour as yourself. Don't you wish all people treated you with respect, more would if you showed respect for ALL others. Now what about those you know who don't like you, this is why Christianity is such a difficult a way of life. Luke 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Most could care less for this attitude, but as a Christian it's not just a good idea but rather mandatory in nature. In addition most people don't realize that if you lash out at those that don't like you, you are just like them and you lose respect from those around you. If you forgive those that spite you, you take away their power to dominate you in anyway as a result the respect that was theirs will be given to you by others as the on-lookers will revere you for the strength you exhibited over the situation. All this together sets up A New Way Of Thinking; Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. That’s just what we are talking about isn’t it, the spirit of your mind, judgmental, cruel and despondent. What about greed and selfishness again two that go directly to the spirit of your mind. Did you know that was also discussed in the Gospels? In Matthew and Luke, I have heard very often, but in Mark 10:17 to 30; The Rich Man Tested I have never heard it spoken so clearly in dealing with this, in verses 24 & 25, Jesus speaking to his disciples, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter the Kingdom of God; It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God. This is also dealt with in another area of the Gospels. You can serve only 1 master. Matthew 6:24; No man can serve 2 masters. He will either hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. worldly wealth, amassing it usually requires greed selfishness, deceit and possibly some form of theft or fraud (often misrepresenting one’’s self or capability] this also always usually hardens someone, making them insensitive to the needs of others and have no respect or care for the down trodden). This definition shows the loathing possessed by those whose only focus is to get rich. In his post, Rev showed in absolute clarity where our focus has to be as a Christian. It cannot be with another person or organization. People are remembered for what they did, good or bad. To submit to another or an organization, you in a sense, end up worshiping that where your allegiance is, not where your focus should be. I state often that, "I’m a Christian not religious", there is a huge difference. As a Christian my allegiance is to Jesus and His Ministry therefore my focus is on those who need me the most. In turn they learn why I am, the way I am and they also learn about Jesus. A religious person is expected to give their allegiance to the church in turn the church claims to follow Christ. Therefore the prayers and observances go to the church and its icons channeling that faith away from Christ. In parting I will leave you with something from Paul while in Philippi Philippians 2:1&2; If there be therefore any consolation(solace) in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowls and mercies. Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
