Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus,
Too often we seek the guidance of others first, on what we should do in a given situation. The prevalence of Social Media in our every day life, makes it easier to see what others of the faith who are quote "celebrities" have to say. Many times in the belief that due to their music, movies, writings, that they have come by a greater understanding that we feel we lack and don't know how to come by. At least not with some great amount of effort/study. Sadly, when many follow them, the thought never crosses their minds on what would happen should these people "fall away". What damage is done to those who thought that these people knew that mystery, that one might be grappling with or seemed to be helping us with, and then say now they no longer have "faith/belief" in Jesus?

This article, really just touches the surface of the danger of certain current events that have happened here lately. Along with the need in the truth of going to Scripture first and foremost, in prayer, before we put our trust in man. I enjoy the music, movies, and even the reading of books, but they are all secondary, if that high on my list, to what is found in the Holy Bible. Trust the Holy Spirit to open your understanding, and provide you the guidance, above anything you may find in what man has communicated to you. This doesn't mean that God won't bring people into your life to help you, but understand that your testimony in Christ Jesus, is where you started and not the words of whoever you might be following in Social Media. Let your foundation be upon the Rock, the Son of our Heavenly Father, and what He provides for your sufficiency.

Until He returns or calls us home.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Thank you! Amen! :)

Of course we should be directed by Jesus and not celebrity Christians.

It's worth stopping to reflect on the Christian culture that encourages people into the spotlight of media attention. I'm sure Joshua Harris was in his early 20s when his book came out.

Was it ever wise to expose a man to so much acclaim when so young? The eagerness of the church and publishing industry to have a new star may be pushing too far too soon.

And the glare of attention eventually burns a person up.
