10/18/2021 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) –Authorities in Haiti continue to search for a group of 17 Christians, including five children, who were kidnapped Oct. 16, 2021, while on assignment with Christian Aid Ministries.

The group of missionaries was returning home from building an orphanage and were abducted by the 400 Mawozo Gang in Ganthier, a community east of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince. The gang controls the area and is well-known for extortion, abductions, and carjackings.

A statement released by Christian Aid Ministries says, “We request urgent prayer for the group of Christian Aid Ministries workers who were abducted while on a trip to visit an orphanage on Saturday, October 16. We are seeking God’s direction for a resolution, and authorities are seeking ways to help.”

“The group of sixteen U.S citizens and one Canadian citizen includes five men, seven women, and five children. Join us in praying for those who are being held hostage, the kidnappers, and the families, friends, and churches of those affected. Pray for those who are seeking God’s direction and making decisions regarding this matter.” “As an organization, we commit this situation to God and trust Him to see us through. May the Lord Jesus be magnified and many more people come to know His love and salvation.”

The Guardian writes that “one of the abducted Americans managed to send a message on WhatsApp calling for help as the kidnapping took place. ‘Please pray for us!! We are being held hostage, they kidnapped our driver. Pray pray pray. We don’t know where they are taking us.”

Haiti has experienced a spike in these types of criminal activities, particularly since the July assassination of President Jovenel Moise and August earthquake. The 400 Mawozo Gang has a history of targeting religious groups, and has recently scaled up activities.

Other religious freedom incidents in Haiti from this year include an April kidnapping of 5 priests and 2 nuns, as well as a September murder of a deacon and the kidnapping of his wife.

Hello there,

Looking for further news, I discovered that the demand of the Haitian kidnappers is for 1 million dollars for each person: and the children's ages begin at 18 months. I was looking to see what the outcome has been in other kidnappings within Haiti, if their victims are usually released unharmed, but could not find any information on that.

The ministry appears to be Christian Aid Ministries which are supported by (quote) ' ... conservative Mennonite, Amish and related groups that are part of the Anabaptist tradition. The organization was founded in the early 1980s and began working in Haiti later that decade, said Steven Nolt, professor of history and Anabaptist studies at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. The group has year-round mission staff in Haiti and several countries, he said, and it ships religious, school and medical supplies throughout the world.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

and remember The Trial of Your Faith.:pensive: For we have been called for times as this.

King James Bible
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Such Honor that the world can never know.
(1 Thessalonians 3)BSB
"We sent Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that none of you would be shaken by these trials. For you know that we are destined for this. Indeed, when we were with you, we kept warning you that we would suffer persecution; and as you know, it has come to pass.…"

We know, That GOD has appointed many of us to go through these kinds of trials. But what rewards, what crowns, endure to the end. What joy what honor. what expectations beyond your wildest dreams and Imaginations.

New King James Version
that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
New American Standard Bible
