Bad Trees And The Ax At The Root !
“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Mathew;7:19 There are trees that bear bad fruit and trees that do not produce fruit at all.The earth is God’s garden. It is His responsiblility to make sure that only trees that produce fruit and good fruit only remain in his property. He tries His best to make each tree fruitful by digging around and fertilizing it and giving a bonus year.
John the baptist told the crowd ,”Bear fruit worthy of repentance, And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."”Luke ‘3:9 The Bible doctiine is to repent and bear fruit to repentance
Jesus told a parable in this context. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.'.Luke;13:6-9
The Bible speaks about people who are traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, etc, etc, having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
2 Timothy;3:5 .Godliness and power go together. But the unfritfulhypocrites don’t have the power of God. “For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God;but if it bears thorns and briars, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.”Hebrews’6:7
Only the righteous can enter the kingdom of God.For others God has designed a stumbling stone and a rock of offense that they may fall on it and be broken.Jesus Christ is that Stone which the disobedient and the rebellious may fall and be crushed. This is the same stone which became a snare and a trap to the house of Israel.[Isaiah;8]”Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces But on whom it falls it will grind him to powder.”Mathew;21:44
.

You've made a good point. I do have a question however, what happens in the case of a believer in a family of non believers? Can you also explain the phrase, " I am not my brothers keeper" I am a Christian, but have always wondered about the tree and the roots, so I am interested in this topic.
