We must not live with the illusion that this world is cool with us living the Christian life. No, it isn't. It wants to do all it can to make us forget who we are, and act in ways that betray our faith. And since the god of this world has in his grasp, the men of this world, he has the resources he needs to accomplish this task.
You have filthy songs everywhere you turn...on the streets, in the buses, or even from your neighbor's room. You were praying in tongues then your mind gets attacked with the song, and before you know it, what you have in your mind is the nice melody of the song, and you forget you were praying in tongues some minutes ago.
The conductor yells and hurls abusive words at you for incessantly demanding your own change, and the temptation to talk back to him in his language keeps mounting on your mind
There are trending news here and there every week to keep you busy, and before you know it, you'd see you talk more about and remember more of those news than you talk about and remember what your pastor preached last Sunday
It's a strategy, dear one.
The plan is to keep your mind off things that make you effective in the practice of the life you have received in the Spirit.
The enemy is active in his own strategy
Question is, what's your counter-plan?
Aren't you passive about your life?
Aren't you just allowing the world happen to you and drag you along?
Hey, you have to fight for your life
Actively so!
Deliberately and consciously keep your mind full of God's word.
Stay full of the Spirit!
Let your lips get used to tongues.
Walking, driving, reading.
Be deliberate about it.
Have those sermons and those songs in your ears continually. Be on the go with God's word.
Sing in tongues as often as you can...and allow yourself to have those solo moments of joy and rejoicing.
Ensure that you are more exposed to the things of God than you are to the things that corrupt your faith every day.
This takes discipline, I know
But it's how to thrive as a Christian.
There's no other way.
Whatever seed you allow to get planted and germinate in your mind is the harvest you'll have. You can't sow carnality in your mind and reap spirituality. It will never happen!
This world isn't friendly to your faith
and the Apostle James rightly says, that friendship with the world is enmity with God.
Protect your Christian life.
The days are evil,
walk circumspectly.
Blessed
