Be removed or evangelistic?

How would you have handled such a situation?

I used to work for a multi-national IT company and a former employee of mine committed suicide 2 1/2 months after I left. His ex-wife had called me the day after looking for someone to get insurance information. The whole situation was messy and I'll cut to the chase...

In speaking with the fiancé of the deceased, she shared with me that she had spoken with him some 6 days afterwards. It took me a minute to connect "channeler" and what she had said. She went on to describe what this “medium” said of his “passing” and that it was rough (I can only imagine how rough as he was not saved). I was literally disgusted by the turn of events and could really no longer stay in touch with her to offer any more support (I had talked with her a few times that week). That was our last conversation and part of me feels a need to stay removed while another part wishes to pursue in an evangelistic mode. So far I have chosen the "safe" route of no contact due to my initial reaction.

Thoughts? Comments? Prayers?

Lev 20:27 "A man or a woman who is a medium or a wizard shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them."

Deu 18:9 "When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations.
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer
Deu 18:11 or a charmer or a medium or a wizard or a necromancer,
Deu 18:12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.

It is clear that if the fiancé of the deceased is consulting a medium that she is not saved. She is identifying with the enemy and darkness.

I think that you should keep your distance and pray for her and also for yourself, so that God can lead you on the right path to take. Don't do anything unless you are absolutely sure that it is God's will.

It is possible that your initial reaction came from the Holy Spirit and it was already an indication of what you must do. We all have a desire to save the people that is lost, but even the apostle's did not move unless it was God's will.

Rom 15:32 so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

Hope this helps.

Blessings!

Thanks Ann. It has been a help that the situation I mentioned was in Southern California and I am hundreds of miles to the north.
