'Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might.'
(Eph 6:10)
Hello there,
Before instructing the Ephesians concerning the armour of God that they needed to put on, Paul, begins by telling them to 'be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might'. His strength and the power of His might is always there for us, and it for us to appropriate it by faith. So often our minds are so taken up by our circumstances, and the present problem that occupies us, that we fail to draw on His strength by faith, by looking unto Him, and living in the light of the knowledge that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So the prayer we need to utter, is not asking for His strength and power, but for the ability to draw on it by faith, in simple trust, in His faithfulness.
May the Lord enable us to do this, that we may abide in His peace, and overcome in love and grace, for His name and glory's sake.
In Christ Jesus
our risen and glorified
Saviour, Lord and Head.
