Hello talkjesus! How is everyone today? :weirdo: xD

I am 17, and when I looked up some Christian hymns for teens...
well I didn't get a good selection. Not a very extensive list of them
either. But I really love hymns, and my two favorite are
'It is well with my soul', and 'How great thou art'.

Does anyone know of powerful hymns, like the two above?
I like hymns that can make you get on your knees in prayer
and praise, that make you cry tears of joy and awe. :)

Hi Danni,

The one hymn that is coming to my mind right now is " Just As I am" it is one of my all time favorites.

Just As I am without one plea
but that thy blood was shed for me
and that thou biddest me come to Thee
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come

this is the very first verse of the song...hope you like it!

Dear DB, thanks for your recent message to me, it is well in Jesus' name (I'm not moved by what I see, hear, think, feel e.t.c. only moved by the word of God)!
I'll say that the hymn below would easily pass for teenager friendly, adult friendly, every-single-christian friendly as well

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

I cared for a Sunday School in my youth. Then I stayed on and grew a church. Buying land and erecting a permanent building. Last year 2010 a modern facility was built and the old demolished.....Hymns through-out these years were sung, hymns which expressed the Christian Fauth.

'Rock of Ages' cleft for me" a Christiain foundational hymn. (Toplady, a Church of England Vicar. Written over 200 years ago.)

"There is a fountain filled with blood........ (Newton C.of E, Vicar and former slave trader)

Hymn's of testimony to the power of Jesus' cross and the work of Jn. 3/16

I have that song as well, and I agree, it is tear jerking!

Thank you, those lyrics are beautiful! I will search it up.
I am glad to hear you are doing well!
