being rejected for being different

This is not meant to directly or indirectly instigate stuff. Sorry if it comes off this way, as that isn't my intention.

I've been different for as long as I can remember. I have very different views in my walk with God then what mainstream Christianity teaches.

It just drives me crazy that if you think differently and act differently than most Christians do, then you immediately (9 times out of 10 from past experience) get judged. It just comes off as really arrogant and in ways, shallow, rude, and/or selfish.

Basically 'my view is the only view that is right, if you have a different view than me, it's wrong'; essentially your love for God is less devoted/deep, your faith for God is insincere.

That if you have different views/theology in your personal walk with God than another Christian, 'you don't understand the Bible, you're not really a Christian'.

You can respect somebody's belief without accepting it, knowledge of something doesn't mean belief of it, and trying to understand why another Christian believes what they do doesn't mean forsaking your beliefs and theology in the process.

We're supposed to bare the burdens of one another. If you really love somebody as a brother/sister/person in Christ, you should accept them as they are.

Hello Shatteredsoul.

Christians believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God.

If your viewpoint does not deviate from this then there is no real problem.

Christians do indeed share one anothers struggles in the faith. Christians encourage each other. Christian love one another. But, Christians deal with Heresy in an appropriate manner Shattersoul. This modern era is rife with Christian heresy, due to the length of time that the Church has been around. Faulty doctrine must be dealt with quickly because it spreads.

David777 already has given you good advice. We are all Saved Believers in Christ.

However I understand what you are trying to say. You probably have a different way of saying things or understanding things and many Christians tend to be quick to judge rather than patiently find out what you are really saying.

Yes it is sad that there are not more understanding and patient Christians these days who can talk through viewspoints instead of trying to make you accept what they believe.

We are each accountable our own decisions and conclusions we make from the Bible before God. Noone else is going to stand in our shoes before God so they really shouldn't be trying to put their beliefs in your head. Many people just can't help themselves. They think they are completely right and you should just jump on board.

I like to think things through for myself. I have often come before the Lord and said God if I'm wrong please correct my thinking and understanding of your Word.

Try to forgive those who have hurt you. We all have our faults and we often fail our brothers and sisters in Christ. Go to the Lord about it and ask for His help & healing so you can not get so upset at the behaviour of others. In the end we need to rely first and foremost on Jesus and not another person.

These are trying times even amongst Believers. We need to lean more and more on God each day.

Sorry I know I didn't help much. However you are not the only one I have meet with this problem recently, I've spoke to a few Christians who have had the same experience.

There is plenty in the Bible to suggest that Christians SHOULD be different from the general mainstream. I know you're saying that you're different from other Christians rather than being different from the world. But the truth is that the Bible warns that all who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Perhaps some of the Christians who are not feeling "different" in some way are not exercising their faith to the extent they should. Don't take it as a bad thing. Enjoy being different and allow your faith to grow in the way God wants you to grow. Don't worry about what others think of you. It's God's view of you that matters most.
