(5) ½ lb: 1 Samuel, Ch. 30, Vs. 12
(6) ½ lb: Nahum, Ch. 3, Vs. 12 (chopped)
(7) 2 oz: Numbers, Ch. 17, Vs. 8 (blanched & chopped)
(8) 1 lb: 1 Kings, Ch. 4 Vs. 22
(9) Season to taste: 2 Chronicles, Ch. 9, Vs. 9
(10) A pinch of: Leviticus, Ch. 2, Vs. 13.
(11) 1 Teaspoon: Amos, Ch. 4, Vs. 5

Method
Beat 1, 2 & 3 to a cream, add 4 one at a time still beating, then add 5, 6 & 7 and beat again.
Next add 8, 9, 10 & 11, having previously mixed them together, and last add 12. Follow Solomon’s prescription for making a good boy; (Proverbs 23, verse 14) and you will have a good cake. Bake in a rather slow oven not less than an hour and a half.
