Blinded... By Choice?

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.... They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is forever praised. Amen.

Romans 1:21,15 NIV

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 ESV

Weekly Meditation

God's Glory Endures Forever!

May the glory of the LORD endure forever;
may the LORD rejoice in his works,
who looks on the earth and it trembles,
who touches the mountains and they smoke!

I will sing to the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.

May my meditation be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the LORD.

Let sinners be consumed from the earth,
and let the wicked be no more!
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
Praise the LORD!

Psalm 104:31-35 ESV

I like what you wrote sometimes someone needs to put up these verses to reind us about the love gave us and his willingness to let us choose.

Matthew 20:17-19

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"

You can't get any more blind than what happened in this verse . Great thread shortlady . Peace . Mike

Greetings,

God, alone, lifts the dark veil.

If thine eye be single, thy whole body is filled with light.
(He is speaking of the heart.)

Had bad do we want it?
Sacrifice!
In order for Him to increase, I must decrease.
(Less of self, and more of Him).
All praise, glory, and honor be unto God. Amen

Blinded...by choice (?)

Greetings in the Lord

The question mark is very important here... and I tell you...
"no, we are not blinded by our own choice but by Him".

I will testify, but only to what I have seen, heard, and felt.

Abt 20 yr ago, I sit early morn with my cup of coffee and morning reading of the Word. My son, still a youngin, barely, if even yet in school, sat straight up in his upper bunk with eyes wide open, looking dead at me...said
"momma, sometimes we cant see, because our eyes were made blinded."
Fell straight back in his bunk and was fast asleep.

I had been pondering much of God's word in my heart that morning, searching for understanding, for I knew nothing, and the Word didn't speak to me yet; however, I was seeking Him and following through with our worldly rituals of serving God... in the house on Sunday morning, evening, and Wednesdays too. But, I knew in my heart there was, had to be, so much more.

My son had no memory of speaking to me that morning, yes, I asked him.
And glory to God, he lifted my dark veil, and gave me a heart of flesh; then wisdom and understanding by revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ began.

All praise, glory, and honor be unto God. Amen
