Hello!
I was wondering if there was any good christian books for a 27 year old girl like me??
I am always reading but would like some [possible] educational Christian books other than the bible( which I have not really read to be honest, I believe what I believe) that aren't just hmmm, one sided?
I am Non-denominational.

Thanks!

I hope this is in the right section of the board.

Hi @Jessika

Good question. Aside the best book, the Bible I can surely recommend a lot of Christian books as those are the only ones I've read for the last 12 years.

Strategy of Satan
Battlefield of the Mind
Case for Christ

Virtually any book by David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley and Max Lucado. I can assure those 3 are 100% scripturally sound and edifying.

My dear wife read the works of Saint Teresa of Avila, translated by Kieran Kavanaugh, O.C.D. She first read the Interior Castle when she was about your age -- that's what caught my attention. Blessings for your journey to dwell with God.

A book that I read recently, and will definitely read again, is The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer. You can get the kindle version free at Amazon. I highly recommend it.

I am just going to put some books by female authors as you a young lady and I think you may find them easier to relate to than ones written by men, although they are good as well.

So look out for these authors.

Priscilla Shirer (reading one at the moment called 'Life interrupted')
Joanna Weaver 'Having a Mary spirit in a Martha World' + others
Elizabeth George "A woman after God's own heart' +many others
Nancy Alcorn 'Lies young women believe' + others
Stormie Ortman 'Power of a praying...'

Also there was one called 'Knight in shining armour' or something similar that I found edifying for young ladies. A lot of books written for women tend to be for wives, but that one wasn't.

I would really encourage you to REALLY read the bible first though. Esp books of Esther and Ruth.

I read a book by Stormie Omartian as well. She has a powerful testimony of healing, deliverance and grace.

I've always been a sci-fi buff so I suggest 'Time Travelers of the Bible' by Gary Stearman..
and 'On the Trail of the Nephilim' by Tom Horn...

Both are heavy books and endlessly fascinating...they are not fiction
