Bread is such an analogy in the Bible. I was reading about the loaves and fishes and how Jesus fed so many. The author in my book mentioned it would have been black loaves. I thought about how good such barley loaves would taste.
It is fascinating how many variations of bread there are in the world. Yet I stick to only what I know - wholemeal sliced. I love toast with good butter.
Sometimes I bake a white bloomer and slices of that with a good stew are marvellous. No smell is lovelier than that of baking bread!
