For those who don't own a grill, broiling hamburgers in the oven is a great way to prepare delicious homemade hamburgers. Moreover, hamburger broiling preserves the natural juices inside the burger, thereby locking the flavors within the patty. The instructions for broiling hamburgers in the oven are as follows:
  • Set the oven to broil and allow it to pre-heat.
  • While the oven gets ready, the hamburgers can be prepared.
  • Spread an aluminum foil on the cooking sheet or baking pan. This step makes it easier to clean up later on.
  • Once the oven light comes on, one should place the hamburgers in the oven. The hamburgers should be placed on the top shelf, which is only a few inches from heat element. The shelf second from the top will also do.
  • The hamburgers will take approximately 9-10 minutes to cook completely. The time will depend on the thickness of the hamburgers.
  • For even cooking, hamburgers should be rotated and flipped at least 2-3 times during the cooking process.
  • One of the hamburger broiling tips is that one can confirm if the hamburgers are done by checking the meat's firmness. If the meat is firm, then it's well done, and if its soft, then it's still raw. If one is unsure about the meat, then one can check it by cutting it open. The hamburgers are ready to be served.
