We speak of forgiveness and have found in my own life the difficulties on both ends. That is giving & receiving of it.
So, I bring this video to your attention. It is an instance where the victim, was a believer, and apparently so is his brother who you see speaking from the stand during the sentencing portion of the trial.
If you don't know the story of what happened. You might want to research it, but in short. A police officer Amber Guyger went into the wrong apartment thinking it was hers (she actually lived one floor below the one she entered), and saw this Brother in Christ Botham Jean who was in his own apartment, and shot him in the belief that he had broken into her apartment. She offered him no aid, and he eventually died. She was convicted of murder and given 10 years in prison.
Another part that is not shown is also one of the judge who presided over the trial, leaving the bench and also hugging the convicted officer and giving her a Bible. Truth is that we need more acts of forgiveness, and if we should find ourselves in a position to give it, that we may also find the love of Christ inside of us that we may show the World that we are His as He is ours.
All Glory, Honor and Praise to the Father!
In the name of Jesus Amen!
