Greetings MiaMe,
let me assure you that any physical disorder or health problem is a result of sin in the world. Those who suffer are not the cause, and often they are purely victims of other peoples sin, but generally, we can assume no further blame nor judgement but to understand that sin is not because of us, and sickness is not because of us, but is common to all and has been since the garden, where sin entered the world.
Jesus died to redeem us from the power of sin... so let us turn to Him, our Lord and Saviour, who has given His all that we may be free from all the power of sin in our lives.
Bulimia is not a sin. Like all conditions that plague this world, you are a victim of it, if indeed you suffer with it's symptoms.
In regards to Bulimia and Pro-Bulimia or Pro-Mia, please consider, as a Christian, as to whether such things are the way we were intended to live and use food.
We eat to live and this of course requires us to swallow food and let our bodies digest it.
Excess in food intake and inadequate intake of wholesome food, can and does usually end up in ill health. This is definitely not the Lord's plan for us, so, to answer your question, start here. Are my actions glorifying the Lord.. and in fact is my life, food included, lived with Him in mind, for His glory and not for our satisfaction or hang ups about our physique.
While we need to be considerate to our bodies, we need not turn that consideration into something that rules our behaviour outside of sensible boundaries.
As far as feeling 'less guilty' goes, that is no recommendation to go by.
That is like saying.... beating someone up and stealing their money and car, is not as bad as killing someone....... and therefore justifying the first and lesser crime (by the worlds standard) as if because it is not as bad, then it is OK.
Be careful of that.
Have you asked the Lord about it? He delights to help us, and if you ask Him with an honest prayer, if He would show you the truth about yourself and your ways.
Remember that if you have a condition that leaves you powerless against it, then that does not make you a sinner. I suggest you take the step towards the Lord that your soul will delight in.. that is, to seek Him and to want to glorify Him in your life rather than yourself and your ideas. (PLEASE do not think I am suggesting that you are doing things like putting yourself first , but, rather, just seek Him and ask Him)
Jesus is the Lord, so ask Him to fill your heart so much that you will overcome all obstacles in your life, for His sake and that you may have His joy in an everflowing abundance.
Bless you ....><>
